Where abouts are people buying their Motul gear oil from? In particular, Gear Competition 75W140. I tried Repco this afternoon. They stock the Motul engine oil I use but no luck for the gear oil.
Fanks in advance.

JustJap over east

Funnily enough I got my Motul fluids (Gear 300, Dot 5.1) from Motoquipe in the shopping malls.

Yer for the Cossie mate... I knew I should have asked you first!
What are you using for a stock diff? It will need replacing or rebuilding soon but I'll see how far new oil goes in the mean time.

To be honest, the diffs arenīt that sensitive in the Cossies. Iīve run RedLine heavy weight in diffs and lightweight in box before, but now Iīm just running the ordinary Castrol Multitrax 80-140 in the diffs. They donīt have an LSD of that sort so you donīt need to worry about that.

Theyīre "just" standard ford diffs with viscos diffs in the rear.

Thanks for the info mate. I know what you are saying about that kind of LSD. I did see that Gear300 Kuek, the weight is fine to factory spec, but they mention that it is not for LSD diffs...

Do you think it will be ok to throw in Hampus? Keen to grab if it will do the job.

I was going to use the Gear300 in my S15 diff which is a helical diff, not a mechanical LSD (factory service manual recommends non LSD oil, maybe check your service manual?)

Well, you donīt need an oil made specifically for an LSD since the rear one is capsuled, but 75/90 might be a tad too thin i youīre a "spirited" driver ;)

As said earlier, these are just normal old-school ford diffs without any magic ;) Running same Castrol oil in mine even though Iīve got a Quife diff in mine now too.

Ok, looking through my workshop manual now, they say that the rear diff should take 1 litre of Hypoid SAE90 oil, Ford spec: SQM2C-9002-AA.

So yeah, no magic there...

Gav, I'd be careful mentioning "come" and "collect your fluids" around Kuek.

He sometimes takes things the wrong way, you know....
