that is very nice, love the evo's and gsr's, great 1/4 too.. whats the difference between the lower evo's and gsr's ?
Rick
1.8l engine versus 2l to begin with

doriae86 - Added after I saw your post.
As stated the main difference is the 2lt 4G63 motor with TD05H turbo and large factory front mount intercooler.
Evo1 184kw
Evo2 191kw
Evo3 199kw v's 145kw for the 4G93 in the GSR with TD04 and small interwarmer.
Front brakes are larger, 15" wheels standard v's 14's, suspension geometry slightly different (longer wheel base, wider track front and rear), Alloy vented bonnet, flared front guards, Climate control air, Recaro interior and the there is no split fold rear seat in the Evo - just extra bracing.
Thats pretty much the main differences

Car came with chip from Japan.... no name on it so no real idea as to whether its a good one or not.... car runs well though so it can't be that bad.
Hey Kel... what do you mean "Finally"??? I joined in December.... same month as you.... I just don't post quite as much ;-P

Nice car.
Shame about that group being soiled by the presence of an Evo 4 though.

The 4 is the only model I wouldn't take.

why it ran 11.76, there are no 2ltr faster than that in wa, apart from harkins, and that evo4, both being rally/race cars. tobys was a street car drive on the street.
there will be some quick 2ltrs, but who knows when.

yeh but thats no reason to dismiss the 4g63. im sure if it was shit they would have kept the 4g93 for the evos
TurboHead
29-02-2004, 08:49 AM
Both Aaron and Steves Lancers were running faster that Toby and at the time they were both road cars... just that the Evo4 has had the bits removed and Harkins now races his car.
If you spend the same on a 4G63 as Toby did on the 4G93 then you would see the real story. There are several 10 sec or faster 4G63 lancers over east.... just that no one has spent the funds over here just yet.....

Old mans got an EVO 8 on order. How well do these things go with say exhaust and intake mods, and say an Autronics? Can whack a fair bit of boost into them yeah?
