View Full Version : HELP - Removing pins from AP Racing Calipers
RELEASE

Well the useless pingpingpingping of a mate :p forgot to ask the brakes place how to remove the pins from the caliper to get the pads out when he took my rotors to be skimmed.
on other race brakes we have done there has been a pin or a circlip but there is no circlip or pin that holds the pins in
Pushing against them through the small hole on the face of the caliper does SFA...moves a couple mm and thats it.

A punch and a gentle tap will shift them. 99% sure the have a colet similar to a brembo that clips into a locking groove
see page 7 in section jj of this lots brake service document, will explain in 1 picture what im struggling to in quite a few words.

Oh and dont be afraid to give them a little drink of penetrating oil or crc before you give them a belt

Yeah the pic in that document is for the rear calipers, No R clip just the collet/spring clip the is attached to th Pin. My rear brembo pins are the same.
You just give them a tap and pin and clip pop out. The clip is fitted to the pin so wont pop over and F-Off
