got a rx8 that needs an engine overhaul..... Most places have refused or quoted like $8. Any recomendations for a good rotang overhaul?

Eight dollars is a pretty good deal for a 13b rebuild...

LF did all my fab way back when.... They were good but the employees aren't the same anymore. Caught up with an ex-employee at the V8's... Go see Sanders and tell him he is a poof for driving a hair dresser's car!!

8k is fair for an RX8 rebuild. But I'd personally throw it in the bin and get a new one. I try and avoid using motors / parts that have come off a blown motor. You'll find a new short block will be around 10k landed and maybe another couple to install. Your local Mazda dealership will sort you out with a straight engine swap.

If you can't afford to go new LFP still build the best rotors in Perth IMO but they like to build race motors not daily drive motors. Try Rotomotion champ.
