Do you want it to be portable with you? ie, take to uni?
Does laptop have bluetooth?

Spotted these at office works.. there is a sweet looking Mac one which also works with windows systems... Cannot spot it on the Website.. but they were instore last week at the Office Works in East Perth.
If you are keen on the one listed.. $40 and its yours.

Targus do a fairly robust portable bluetooth one. I'd avoid USB simply for the fact you'd need to plug a dongle in also.

Dont spose the USB units are able to connect to another Logitech Dongle? Ie the one for a Logitech mouse you may or may not be using already?
EDIT:
Office works ad answers that question
"Unifying technology allows users to easily add compatible wireless mice and keyboards to the same nano receiver."

I may have a wired one at home you can have for free (can't remember if I still have it or if I gave it away already). Bought it thinking I would use it, but in all honest it's more of a PITA than it's worth. Moves around too easily when mashing numbers for my liking. Will try and remember to look tonight. If I have it, I'll be heading pretty much straight past your place around 9am tomorrow to drop it off if that suits?
If you want a wireless one or one that is better suited, speaking from experience best advice I can give is to get one with good foot grips or a bit of weight to it. Like I said, having it move around when you are mashing numbers makes for lots of mistakes. :(

Not all USB receivers in Logitech's range are Unifying receivers.

This was a major issue for me when i was looking to buy a laptop ... so i bought one that has a keypad already in the keyboard ... much easier ;)
