Alright guys quick question for 2jz guys

got myself a HKS copy fuel rail and a set of 1000cc top feed injectors
with the rail came an ally grommet which sits in the runners and makes it a 11mm hole, but it also came with a rubber cushion/ square oring.

now my question is, is the injector supposed to use the standard oring that it came with?
and sit in the grommet with the cushion (which doesnt work...)
is it supposed to just sit without the black ring?

am i supposed to swap the oring over? and use the black one?
doing it that way seems to make it more of a snug fit...

also would the back of the grommet need sealing?
and with what etc?

just being sure before i fit everything in!

This one is in the grommet with the original oring

and this one is with the black oring (which i think is right....)

should work with the standard o ring. you can get those alloy fittings that go into the runners in different sizes. they should fit into the runners pretty snug. little bit of lube on the o ring and the injector should pop into the fitting and stay there without you holding it.

doesn't stick with the original o-ring (brown)
just the black one wont fall once i put it in...

and how about the back of the grommet?, that need a seal?

no, it shouldnt need a seal. they should be a tight fit.

It's not exactly tight...
It's snug but I can pull it back out with my fingers...

Pretty sure the flat rubber ring sits in the manifold, then the ally grommet sits in then the injector with the oring that is on it.

That o ring is small enough to fall into the manifold...

i have the same injectors and similar ali bushes my bushes didnt fit properly i got the biggest o-rings i could find and got embelton engineering to machine the bushes out to the right size. the factory black flat rubber washes sit under the ali bushes in between the manifold and bush then the injector into the bush. i had to machine the plastic spaces that go on the factor rail down that the mounting screws go thought to suit the height of the new rail. if you need to know more im happy to help

i dont have any of those standard black washes?, have spares or know of any spares by an chance?,

well i just test fitted the injectors and rail just to make sure everything else fits!

this is the ally grommets in the manifold runners,

then fitted the rail and injectors!...

and what happened?
the injectors are longer than expected so the mounting bolt and spacers are too short. so gotta get a slightly longer bolt (bout 10mm) and same with spacers. ill be hunting for these monday!

Serious question is serious, has anyone had any issues with Injector Dynamics gear for 2jz?

i would think that you would need the standard flat rubber washes under the ali bushes but see how you go it might work fine. I'm not sure where to get them from maybe toyota but you will need to get a part number as they will most likely have no idea what you are talking about.

My sard top feed rail came with o rings which sit on the manifold side of the collar (assuming the black flat washers are supposed to sit in there) then the collar then the injector will sit inside the collar using the o ring on the injector.
It may need a little lube to slide in there but it should go in. If not try a different o ring on the injector.

ill just not use a washer or oring under the ally piece for now
i mean its not hard to take it off....
but the black ring would fall straight into the manifold so it cant go there

ill get bolts and spacers on monday and see how i go after that
