View Full Version : The bronzit bitch
Sup!
Been on here a while, been a while since i had my own car as such, what with moving to sydney, getting company cars etc. I recently placed an order on a Golf R near on a month ago and have a little while to wait, so in the meantime I bought this.
1985 E28 528i
Has all the creature comforts (ie leather interior, power windows/mirrors, trip computer etc) that a current model car has, and its in pretty good nick. The plan is;
M50/5 speed manual conversion into her, with the intention of FI
some decent coilovers, get it stanced
E34 brakes (current ones are shithouse)
Mtech kit (if i can find one)
respray or a vinyl wrap in black
BBS mesh wheels of some sort, with some crazy offset.

Few whingers in here!
Very nice bimmer mate, i was only looking at these the other day on Carsales, great features for the age. I would love an old Alfa 90 to do similar things to your plans above.
Nice taste btw! I want a Golf GTI or R, that will be nice!

looks to be in good nick.
Fuck M50. Not worth it for that car.
Go the S38 so S50 ( both motors are quite reasonable now )

can personally vouch for them, low prices, good quality and delivery from USA is 2 weeks, they take care fo customs and everything you just walk into Fed Ex/DHL and pick it up.
too easy.

the only reason why i was thinking M50 is because one of the boys at work has an e30 which is getting an sr20 in it, and i could get the 50 for decent price, rebuild to turbo spec and go for it.
Initially I wanted an E30, but this was just too good a deal to say no.

this conversion has been done by a few e28/e30 owners in the US, didnt want to go down this track. some coconut did mention getting an e60 m5 motor for it, would be interesting but i dont have 7g + shipping to spend on a motor!
if there were more funds i would have gone the e39 5 series... decent looking rig!

M50's are very cheap now but cost alot of money to get them to move ( trust me )
Go for something that is quick out of the box already and add bits to it later.
S50B30 would be my choice if you can find one.
will look into it, thanks muchly!
ps tj dont suppose you have any more pics of that e39 do you?
