Some people may think that this gay thread is gay, but personally i love nice roads to drive on. While they might not be quite as nice as what you'd see through Europe, what streets do you drive down that you really enjoy? Whether they are from twisty roads to nice big flat open highways or small streets filled with trees.
When i take the Alexander drive route home from uni, i always like the small stretch from Hepburn heading towards Marangaroo drive, nice flat road fill with nice big trees, covering almost the whole section in shade.
Another is a wide residential street in Cottesloe, all old style houses with huge front lawns and massive big trees practically blocking any light into the street, almost like a tree tunnel. I always make it point to drive down that street when i'm near by.
Potter Pl Bateman,
Makes me feel rich, so much cash there
Woodrow Avenue Yokine,
Can smell the cheap coffee in the air, and the roads are clean, like they are never driven on.

+1 for Mounts Bay Rd and West Coast Drive.
Remove traffic islands, people, other cars, speed limit, would be a fun road.
On the outskirts:
-O'Brien Road off Toodyay Rd - early winter morning...fog in the valleys (downside is shit loads of roos)
-Chittering Rd, from Bullsbrook, same as O'Brien Rd really.
Trying to think of a few random back roads I took on a cruise to York once...Will have to dig up the map.

Following the river back through Applecross on my way home is a pretty nice drive.
Plus planting it up Majestic hill never gets old...
Too many rich fools here also.
Avoid Melville Beach Road on this route though, they've ruined it with a million speed bumps

well, if we are going to ignore the "around perth" part of the question, then I nominate the balingup-nannup rd. Just remeber to keep an eye out for the mushroom hunting stoners that appear on the side of the road at certain times of the year.

Even St Georges Terrace when there is no traffic (basically never though) is nice.
West Coast Highway towards the City Beach end with big double lane roads and huge islands filled with trees is nice, especially around this time of year.

Sounds ghetto, but Medina ave, in kwinana.
Old trees on both sides, that are atleast 40 years old, overhanging the whole road. Pretty smooth road, nice dips and turns, never any traffic. It's nice

Old Mandurah Rd, from Rockingham Rd to Safety Bay Rd - majority of the stretch is nice.

Also, Beela Rd out of Brunswick Junction. Tight, twisty road that is mostly sealed (some of it has gravel though...). Beautiful scenery, and leads to some good camping spots out in the forrestry area.

I like the stretch of road heading towards Yanchep turn off and for a few 100m there's really tall white gums either side of the road as it dips and turns.
jandakot road in well jandakot! :) good road to play on with no traffic! have hit it once and past a fuck load of cops doing 150ish in the evo... i shat and proceeded to make hast for the freeway

I love being amongst the trees on roads that feel quick at the speed limit.
X2 on most of the roads around Pemberton
About a decade ago I used to have west coast why to myself at 3am when driving home ( from subiaco to kallaroo) from nightshift.
I had a BRG 1969 Mini, no sound proofing, window down.

O'Brien has some great curves, hairpins and lookouts. Also off of that on the south east corner is Reen, thing's got chicanes! Hit that up last weekend with some from the xr6t forum, good fun.
Agree watch out for Roos and gravel though. Perils of living in the hills!

Along the river through Applecross is nice at the right time of day and the through Bicton and to Freo along the river too.
I used to thrash my 1970 mkII cortina with stupidly loud exhaust through there at night
Just need to jag a time with minimal traffic or can be painful. No good for slammed cars either.

Twisty bits on approach to the roundabouts are annoying though.
Done a few late nights runs on there when I have nothing better to do :)
Spencers Brook - York Road between Clackline/Gt Eastern Hwy and York is also a fun long stretch of narrow country road - once again, early winter morning is the best time to do it.

The new coastal hwy stretch near Leeman is pretty good.. 110kmh, big winding bends with the ocean less than 100m on one side and huge sand dunes on the other.
Also as Cptn Beaver said coast road Hillarys to Trigg.. one powerball...

The road that goes from the city, under the bridge and down past UWA. Beautiful shot of the river, lovely trees, past the brewery and stop in at mothers foods for a lasagne and then down to Captain Stirling for a pint.
Twisty bits on approach to the roundabouts are annoying though.
I like the twisty bits, as long as there isn't some slow pingpingpingping in front that does 50 through them.
Turning onto mitchell freeway south from reid highway

This is also good.
Roundabouts on Connolly Drive between Shenton and Burns Beach are good fun if there is no-one around, drops off to the left then back up at the exit.

Awesome driving road with little to no traffic during week: Croyden Rd (near Araluen Botanic Gardens)
McNess (some of it anyway)
Roads that go to Perth Observatory

Kala zig-zag is always good fun
Lawnbrook Rd East heading out to Bickley/Pickering Brook
Mundaring Weir road is awesome - still remember a cruise years back, and as your going through all the twists and turns, you can see the headlights of all the other guys on the cruise who are on the opposite side of the hill (yet to take that big 180 turn at the bottom over the bridge which leads you back up the hill) ... awesome sight
Canning Rd (heading out to Pickering BrooK) is always a nice trip too, beautiful forrest!

Quit posting up the roads in the hills. The reason they are so good is because they are great roads that not many people use/know about.
Advertising it and increasing the numpty traffic out there only pisses off the farmers<council<police bringing extra unwanted attention (roads get permanently blocked, police presence or maybe it will be yet another farmer gets pissed that his evening is disturbed by v6 mang and decides to lob a few bricks).
IMO, If your too lazy to explore and discover them yourself you dont deserve to experience them.
