Read the comments, I love how niave some people in WA are. I mean Phizzle81 has some good points put the people who are killing, maming others away and stop being heros when it comes to burnouts.

I would be willing to assume that most of the people on that page would have lost traction in a car once in thier life therefore if they are against it they are hypocrites.

'Far Side of Perth' is correct in that there is too much urban sprawl for anyone to go and do these type of activities anymore. Going back about 12ish years ago when my brother first got his licence myself, my brother and a few of his mates used to rip up some skids on a road Wittenoom road just over the railway lines in High Wycombe. There used to be a an out of the way one way road where no one went with an old derelict house at the end. Used to rip quite a few tires there for an hour or two and no one bothered you. You could easily see the smoke screen.

12 years on and that road has now been removed and is called Abernethy Road that runs near the AHG driver training centre and a shopping centre nearby. Look how much that area has changed around there let alone peoples attitudes.

I know TJ! Posted at 9:32 AM Today

This just shows that those down there doing burnouts aren't your average 'hoon'. The majority of people that get branded hoons because they like to do the occasional burnout do not go around doing dumb stuff like this. But hey, no doubt the Today Tonight viewers on here will label this as proof hoons are out of control, need to have their cars destroyed, and be given the death penalty

well today in wundowie, all non-hoon residents were getting booked left right and centre, including for parking the wrong way at the local shop, typical over the top response from police. the local police station was graffitted, so they even sent detectives, by the car load! be nice to get that kind of response when anything serious happens here in wundowie

Hmmm, I'll take plates off and drop a big skid, if someone is keen to remove theirs and do a speeding drive by. The camera will go off and there will be an excellent news report!

'Freo4ages'; You are an idiot. Find me an example of someone doing stationary burnouts and 'spinning out of control and killing themselves and their friends and strangers'. People have yet to die from burnouts. People are so brainwashed by Today Tonight and other programs designed to be biased that people think the only thing to worry about these days are 'hoons'. I see people doing their fucking makeup on the freeway at 110+ whilst in control of a 4x4, yet shit-all gets done about that. Drink driving? The current 'RBT' scheme isn't having it's optimum efficiency as the only people that get pulled over for them driving normally are people in 'souped-up' cars. Motorplex is not a realistic option, as not everyone wants to pay a $45 entry fee, then be forced to pop a set of tires in front of a large crowd. Some people would be happy with 1 small skid, not wanting to blow tires. Kthanxbai

Ok, you got me but,
Tennessee. Kind of speaks for itself but, nevertheless, there have been aviation accidents from people doing loops in acrobatic joy flights which falling debris could harm quite a lot of people. They put in designated areas and zones in which you are permitted to do acrobatics in, why not do the same for hoons? Different machine, same thing.
Why do burnouts? Why do flips in a plane?

What footage of Hoon driving? I recall the report featured a pedo making a call to police because he saw someone with a broken tail light.

Maybe someone should respond to his comment reminding him that he did his whole "covert operation" with a paedophile.

if thats the one i think it is its a bit different from a regular street car doing a burnout.
he was doing a massive roll-on (as massive hp top level dragsters do)

dragster + sticky drag slicks + burnout=potential grip up and accident especialluy when the "track" hwy is lined with crowds of people

Max Rockatansky of Anarchy Road Posted at 4:00 PM April 28, 2011
Seen a few skids and pulled over plenty of hoons in my time. It's easier to bully and intimidate young drivers than risk getting hurt dealing with druggies or violent criminals. It's painfully obvious that drink drivers and those who can't indicate or keep left are way more dangerous than kids in hot cars but old people can afford lawyers, it's too much effort taking their cars away. When you pull over a kid they crap themselves and call you sir and beg for leniency. It's much more gratifying watching these kids suffer. Sometimes I give them a yellow sticker just so they have to spend an entire morning lined up at the pits. Honestly I don't know much about cars or design rules,I don't have to, my job is to perpetuate the hoon myth and make young drivers loose respect for the law. Thank god as most hoons have immaculate cars with the latest suspension and expensive tyres, if I was to crack down on unroadworthy cars ie. "mums taxi" that would effect entire families, how would their children get to school? Sure we have many road accidents in rural areas but i'm never going to get featured "The Force" taking a pensioners car off the road, viewers want to see hot modified cars.
