Hi guys, thought id put a thread up about my car.

When i purchased it in mid 2010, it had just had the V1 Vortech charger removed due to various reasons.
Then retuned to suit the cam and OTR.
Shortly there after, sitting at an intersection one day waiting to pull out into the median strip, i heard a loud bang clang etc etc..( picture the sound of a hammer smashing the inside of the engine)
I managed to just limp it home to my street where it died rolling up to my driveway.
After removing the rocker covers, i discovered quite a few bits of stray metal, with further unbolting i removed the head to notice one of the valves lodged in the top of one of the pistons.
All caused by a dirty big cam and standard valve springs, timebomb.

So it was time to start looking for a new motor, finally found one after a few weeks of searching.
11am on a saturday , 38 odd degrees i decided it was time to remove the old motor, swap over a few bits and peices and get the donor motor in.
6 hours later by my self had it sitting in bolted up and running.

I havnt had any dramas since touch wood.
This is how it sits today.

not too sure about the rims or the chev badges, each to their own. looks like a pretty fun package, decent power through a 6 speed. i'd get the diff gears (3.9's) done asap, easily the best mod you can do to a commonwhore

Thats ok i get that a lot about the badges.
Yeah diff gears have been on the cards for a while, but with a mortgage and 2 kids i dont have much spare coin to spend on the car unfortunatly.
Definatly be one of the things i get done soon.

something about chrome rims on commodores, makes them look tacky and cheap, other than that I like it

Looks nice mate, I like what you've got planned for it - what sort of specs were you thinking of going with the comp cam?

Ive actually still got the cam from my old motor.
I have tried to get some info on the cam online but finding it hard.
Might have to take it into a shop to be sure.
