Make / Model: 1986 Holden VL Calais 5Spd

Wheels/Tyres: VE SSV 19’s machined to fit VL hubs
Interior: immaculate grey S2 calais interior with HDT head rests brand new weather seals all around, brand new scuff panels, momo steering wheel and venetians (rear and side), a few gauges around the place, working aircon!!!

Other Mods: line locker, intercooler, greddy catch can, surge tank, battery in boot, bonnet struts, polished strut caps, hidden engine bay wiring, VL turbo radiator, VT commodore power steering res, turbosmart E-boost 2

Future mods: build an off tits (figuratively speaking) rb30det. Parts I have already; t66 turbo, high mount manifold, greddy plenum, 600cc SARD injectors, microtech LT12s ECU, 6x Bosch mec 717 coils, tial 42mm waste gate, XF falcon TB.

Plan is to build a full forged 25/30 and have some fun with it :) and probably fit some more street friendly suspension for when it’s not going to the track.

You've really got to learn to use italics. Will stop the confusion.

But.....I do agree with what you said, great build thread!

im sure if it makes more power than mine he will be happy, and i think its a t66 isnt it?

SK

goooooooooo jack!

mav_vlt
10-08-2011, 09:59 AM
its a t66 on a 6boost manifold. bottom end is just a na rb30 bottom end with 150xxxkm, an rb25det oil pump, oil restrictors fitted and a few other little mods to get everything to fit.

other people have gotten 400hp at the treads out of smaller 25/30 setups than this ( again using non rebuilt bottom ends).

if it blows the bottom end its no big deal, i have 2 spare ones sitting at home anyway

rat
11-08-2011, 04:21 PM
Standard n/a bottom ends ftw :)

Standard n/a bottom ends ftw :)
plenty of blokes have made decent power with them so iv got relatively high hopes for it

picked up the jd custom plenum last night and il throw it on on thursday.

the turbo i picked up:

was packed full of greese not to stop oil coming out like i first throught but to hide the huge amounts of shaft play it had so its gone in to be rebuilt now.

hopefully have the car going in about 3-4 weeks

because i like pictures:

had 2 bosses welded under the plenum to bolt the coil packs to.
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l86/vlwagonit/5f03d767.jpg
modified the plenum so i can use an XF throttle body.
