Antilag GT5 Online Racing (Thursday 21st April) : Public Lobby Trial

Seeing as a few of the regulars may be away admiring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker's acting ability I'll be running a public lobby this time. If you click my lounge icon you be in an empty room by yourself.

To join you must click the orange icon next to the lounge icon.

This will take you straight to the public lobby game room we're running.

DETAILS

- From about 8:30pm onwards

Eligible cars
> Racing cars GT500/DTM/FIA GT etc 630PP* or less and Racing Soft tyres.
- If you don't have any racing cars in your garage you can choose one from the arcade list (eg Calsonic Nissan GT-R or Castrol Toyota Supra)
> And the usual one make stuff from the 'Recommended' arcade car list.


* You can de-tune your car for online racing by adjusting the Power 'slider' control if your car creeps over 630PP.

> Various Tracks (inc some random generated tracks)
> Driving aids allowed except skid recovery

Driving Standards

Some drivers are obviously faster than others but we're all racing for fun so boost is turned on to keep the pack together.

> Give each other racing room. No other pushing or ramming other cars off the tarmac.
> If you accidentally push or hit a competitor off the track, slow and let them re-pass you to address the situation (apologising via your headset will also help).
> If you deliberately push or hit a competitor off the track, or shortcut any track, turn off your PS3 and sit in a dark room by yourself contemplating what a weak pingpingpingping you are.

Oh well... if it's been down for 12 hours, odds are it won't be fixed for a bit still.

I doubt it's the same DoS attacks. This ones down to Sony's fuck up I think but time will tell.

It's a bit of a blessing. I've got a magazine to complete and send to print on Monday and the weekend is chockas as it is, so tonight is one of my last chances to work on it. If GT racing was available they might just get an un-finished magazine :P

I think the network should be back up for next Thursday though.. it'll have been close to three weeks by that stage!

Anyone heard more about the PSN getting up and going?? Was still down last night, have not seen an accurate ETA anywhere..

They announced that they were turning it back on in certain parts of the world already (Japan, USA), but it would take a while before it was fully operational again.

Sony held a press conference last Sunday regarding the issue. They announce that most PSN functionality (online gaming, game updates, friends list etc) would be up and running this week. (ie between now and Sunday). No indication of exact day yet.

Once the PSN is back up you will need a firmware update to connect. The update will also force you to change your PSN password.

I believe you'll be able to reset the password without knowing the old one by sending a validation email to your account registered to your PSN id.

Waiting for farkin email to be sent so I can reset my password.. All I've wanted to do for the past month is buy a fucking F1 car. Cannot get one in the game because it just hasn't recycled through my used car lot so now I'm dying to see if there is one online. I'm up to level 27 or some shit in the B-spec now, that's how bored I have been lately not being able to troll online and drift in people's car racing nights.

Not sure. But I have over $9Mn now so not too phased about buying one. Depends what you're after really. I haven't bothered buying any other race cars as they are pointless, I can win whatever I need to with the toyota 887 and a couple of others at this point lol.

The only thing I've fucked up is not training up a 2nd driver in B-spec for endurance races. Guess I'll have to get another one and do it all again so I can make MOAR dorrah.
