Having endured the depression i suffered after selling my GSXR for long enough, i decided to offload the merc and get back into two wheels... I've had a love for the new blades for as long as they've been around so when this one came up, it was a no-brainer... Managed to scam a black one with the pipe i wanted already fitted, low kays, the perfect start!
The only mods so far is the yoshimura carbon r-77 exhaust, and i pulled the disgusting fender off and replaced it with a carbon taylor made item... Really trick bit of kit, ditches the old tail light and replaces it with a slick row of LED's... Gives the rear end a super aggressive look.
Went from this:

on order from the UK i have - pazzo levers, puig race dark smoke screen, seat cowl and some street hooks to assist passenger peg removal...
Thing is so quick, makes the old 600 feel like a scooter! However exceptionally good fun!

Ah, you baught this one. Very nice bike indeed. These have just started growing on me...Have disliked the front since they came out, but went for a test ride a couple weeks back and it felt great.
Enjoy it!
Also, wheelie pics not loading?

yeah i was off the front at first too, but the rear end was just so tough. Then the front grew on me, with the running lights on the mirrors looks like some sort of pissed off wasp!
wheelie pics? fuck. that. shit.

Wheelies are so easy on that thing, specially for a newer thous. Most have shitloads of top end and dont wheelie, but when I took that for a test ride, it popped up on the back wheel almost as easy as my 02' R1...and bloody easy to hold at balance point!
Practice practice practice! :D

Noice one brudda!
Street hooks look a bit odd, why do you need them to delete the rear pegs??
WRCjosh
17-05-2011, 11:07 AM
access to the bolts is actually behind the subframe, so if you want to put them back on/take them off, the whole rear end of the bike/fairings/subframe has to be dismantled. The street hooks bolt in place of the pegs, and lower the mounting points for them so they can be put on/removed easily... Also they provide a point to strap the bike down if you want to trailer it somewhere etc

Josh
Did you test any of the other thou's on the market?
What made you decide on the cbr?
Looking to buy big bike very soon. Not sure what to get

Black rearsets, go whole hog black on black.
Also, get your pillion pegs powdercoated black so when they're on they match.
I got mine done last year, cost about $60 from memory, in a matte black that matches my bike nicely.

Nice buy, looks hot!
Test rode one of these (in bumblebee colours) before buying my R1 and they are so nice to ride. In regards to the post above I really think getting other peoples opinions (and also magazine reviews) isn't the best idea, I did that and then after riding them had different thoughts on many of them. Personal preference plays a huge role.
Alem - when are you done on that 250 and getting a big boys toy?

Ian, for me it was a simplified choice. There was no way i was buying a kwaka, i cant stand em. I'd already played with the gsxr so i didnt want another one, not to mention i wasnt really a fan of the looks. That left the yammi and the honda, i rode an 08 R1, which i loved, but i wasnt a huge fan of the seating position, not to mention EVERYONE seems to have an R1. I hadnt seen many fireblades around, and i loved the look, and after riding it, i was sold, bought the first one i saw.
Lozzle, the mate i live with has a powdercoating business, already done those badboys!!! so much better ;) Gonna fork out for a set of these tho

Just had Gav@GT Graphics vinyl wrap my front end, did a top notch job. disassembly took all of an hour, reassembly took 4!! Happy with the final product though - will take some decent photos on the weekend, but until then, iphone will have to do
