Warning: Science stuff

http://rebelscience.blogspot.com/2009/09/physics-problem-with-motion-part-i.html

There are many things about mainstream physics that infuriate me, not the least of which is the physicist’s understanding of motion. In this multi-part article, I will argue that the physicist’s understanding of movement is fundamentally flawed, on a par with the flat earth hypothesis. I believe that having a correct foundational model of movement will unleash an age of free energy and extremely fast transportation. It will be an age where vehicles have no need of wheels, move silently at enormous speeds with no visible means of propulsion and negotiate right-angle turns without slowing down.

Well worth the read, even if you don't agree with his ideas

That the concept lasted so long is proof that scientists are just as dogmatic about their beliefs as religious folks, probably even more so since they consider themselves to be the voices of reason.

Haven't read the article yet but the first line alone has alarm bells ringing... "Mainstream physics" - like there's any other type?

Indie physics? Underground physics? Seriously, what the fuck.

I've read the paragraph on this thread and don't understand that so would be wasting my time opening the link ??????

tldr... I doubt some guy on a blog can prove something all the Physicists in the world cant.

If I wanted heavy ready I'd stand on a scale.

Just skimmed through it then, it appears as though he's never witnessed or performed a physics experiment in his life...

Then again, this was written in '09 so I assume he has now adapted his theories into some hyper-stellar transport system and is making it with alien babes somewhere...

I only recognise Norwegian death physics :)

Didn't James May do a doco recently that addressed a few similar points this self declared physicist critic makes?

Yes, Mainstream Physics is outdated, and it is about time physicists revisited their stuff.

I haven't yet read the article, but theories on anti-gravity have been abundant.

Mag-Lev trains have been around for ages yet we are still here using rail. :(

The thing is though the possibilities are endless, the drawback is what people are ready to accept as the norm.

What you get taught in school is mostly; "stuff is this way, and this way only" it doesn't allow for you to expand past that and look further into what could ACTUALLY be happening.

Will have to read the article!!

Article is long and Part V is missing. This guy sounds a bit nuts.

Enjoyed the read though, interesting concepts.

Plus, I thought Aristotle's "if an object is caused to move by a force, it will stop moving as soon as the cause is removed" was generally believed? EDIT: Na i was thinking of Newton...

Would like to see his take on the "Light is both a particle and a wave" Theory. Particles jumping from one lattice to another?

Isn't Brockas a physicist? Ask him I'm sure he could put it in simple terms for the rest of us.

Yes I have a physics degree... but that would require me reading the article.

If I can be bothered tomorrow I'll give it a shot.

If I can be bothered tomorrow I'll give it a shot.Highly recommend not bothering.

Pfft, that's pussy physics. Too mainstream. I myself only have time for Skandanavian black orchestral fantasy physics.

Anyway, I was willing to give this guy a chance. But it's like he's read really far into an incomplete understanding of intertia and decided that based on things he's deduced from different equations that the rest of the physical world isn't anything to worry about. Almost like he's banking on the possibility that physics might be wrong about something, and if he puts in his theory now there's a chance he'll become king of the apes when it all changes.
