worth a read! although people may not be happy being with bp ultimate
We are going to hit $ 2.00 a litre and it might go higher!! Want petrol prices to come down?
We need to take some intelligent, united action.
The oil companies just laughed at last year’s action because they knew we would not continue to 'hurt'ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was problem for them.
BUT whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us!
By now, you're probably thinking petrol priced at about $1.50 is cheap. It can only get dearer ... and dearer unless WE do something about it.
Politicians pay nothing for petrol. Do not expect them to fight for you.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre of petrol is CHEAP at $1.50, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place...not sellers.
With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.
The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket book by not purchasing their petrol! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying petrol.
But we CAN have an impact on petrol prices if we all act together to force a price war.
Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from BP, the biggest price-up driver company.
If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of BP petrol buyers.

pfffffffffffffft lol @ OP. Petrol prices? Company car, don't care about petrol prices. I only ever really use my land-barge on the weekend. It's people living beyond their means who will suffer from this, just like it's idiots who mortgage houses more expensive than they can afford to and don't take into consideration what the effects of few % interest rate hike can do to their monthly repayments.

This is a great idea!!! It's not like all petrol stations originally get their fuel from BP anyway......oh wait.
I honestly hope the majority of Perth actually follow this, then there will be less people when I buy my BP Ultimate.

bahahahahaha considering BP Kwinana Refinery provides ALL of the fuel to every servo and the airport in WA except Caltex Vortex 98 and some of the Mobil/Gull who import high sulphur crap from overseas then not buying direct from BP will do SFA as what you buy at Shell, Caltex, etc is all bought from BP!

Ever thought about why a litre of water is more expensive at the servo than a litre of petrol?
Petrol in Australia is quite cheap compared to some other countries in the World, even though there has definately been an increase in the last two years.

Bp does not supply all the fuel to Perth, my uncle works at the refinery and all though its one big complex each company has its own smaller refinery within the grounds.
C'mon gaiss.... if we all band together and hold hands and not buy petrol, surely petrol prices will come down.
Low demand + High supply = Lower prices

the price of fuel really doesnt have that much to do with the oil companies, nor does it have that much to do with the supply / production.

About as much as you do about tinting
Down the road from me is a BP. Sif I'm going to spend extra $$ on fuel to drive further and out of my way to fill up elsewhere.
Besides I get 4c off a litre dockets from IGA :P

Bring it on!
By the way i have no prob. with people who actually use there 4WD as intented - just the tossers who buy one "to be safer". What.... you base your vehicle buying descision on the fact you ARE going to crash !

Old suggestion about boycotting BP is old.
Petrol prices do not really concern me. Company car/Fuel card. Personal car gets filled maybe once a month.
As for stealing fuel. The pingpingpingpings should be shot. The whole pre-pay thing makes it inconvenient for people who do pay because you have to go in and tell them you want 52.97 litres of fuel/leave a deposit...etc...etc.

I tinted a blower/cam combo on a VE Senator today. He reckons he got from Ellenbrook to Carlisle on a 1/4 tank then had to fill up!
He didnt care about fuel prices just fuel consumption.
Most people just deal with high fuel prices because theres nothin you can do about it.

In regards to this, if the government would pass an industry standard to make you have to prepay your fuel it would have been done a few years ago, atleast. Though that wont happen. Big company sites wear loses attributed to drive off's as do small independants such as my work. Difference being that that company owned sites have the backing power of a multinational and can probly continue to wear these costs. Smaller operators get reamed by driveoffs, when the average is probly around $300 a week with others up to $1000. The whole driveoff issue is very big at the moment with the MTA making a push for the police to get a bit more proactive and hardball when it comes to people doing them.

If you think the fuel prices here are bad.... like it has been said before, go overseas.
Poland is fucking EXPENSIVE when it comes to fuel. When I was there, about $2/L, now its at $2.50/L and rising.
Go get a Prius, convert your car to full electric, or full gas, or build a water engine, walk, push bike, OR, siphon fuel out of your neighbours cars, boats, whatever you find.

The best scam the petrol companies have pulled off is the 4c a litre discount offers. 50L = $2 saving, if you fill up once a week that's only just over $100 for a year, a lot of people every dollar counts but it's hardly worth it. But by the prices going up by say 10c a litre after it first started you're paying an extra couple of dollars in the end anyway, and if you don't have the offer then even better for everyone involved...except you :)
in america, depending on the state, premium fuel is $3.5-$4.5 per gallon which works out to $0.92 - 1.20 per litre.. bastards! i want fuel that cheap :( i herd its even cheaper in some arab countries?
