DETAILS

- From about 8:30pm onwards

- Eligible cars
> Japanese GT500 cars 630PP* or less and Racing Soft tyres.
If you don't have a GT500 car in your garage you can choose the Calsonic Nissan GT-R or Castrol Toyota Supra from the arcade list

> The rest with the usual one make stuff

- Various Tracks (inc some random generated tracks)
- Driving aids allowed except skid recovery

* You can now de-tune your car for online racing by adjusting the Power 'slider' control if your car creeps over 630PP.

HOW TO JOIN

Add my PSN id: MGR

- Once I confirm your request you should now be able to see MGR in the community tab.
- Click MGR in the community tab. Once I'm online there should be an orange icon just above the lounge icon.
- Click the orange icon to join my current active game.

CONNECTION ISSUES

If you have had problems racing online previously then I'd strongly suggest configuring your PS3 network and router settings. Even if you're connection is for the most part stable, it's still a good idea to apply these measures. They will improve network stability for all your PS3 online games.

Step 1 : Set your PS3 to a static IP address using the following step-by-step guide.

Step 2 : Configure your router to forward the appropriate ports to the PS3 static IP address.
- Select your router from the list on this page...

- 'Click here to skip this advertisement...' in the top right hand corner of the screen.
- Select 'PlayStation Network' from the list
- Follow the on screen instructions to configure your router

Once you've applied the settings to your router perform an internet connection test from the PS3 Network Settings menu. If you've done everything correctly your Nat Type will be Type 2 - which is good. If you're getting 'Type 3' then go back and make sure you've configured your PS3 and router as per the guides.

Last week it was set to 610pp but the available arcade cars (Calsonic GTR and Castrol Supra) are 630pp and 626pp respectively. That's why they were not appearing on the available car list when the limit was set to 610pp.

It's lucky I don't have a headset either, I was FFFUUUUUUUUUing at how quickly the tyres were wearing out on my car from sliding. When I actually raced a few races it was mad though, boost on is cool, getting into 1st then 6th then 2nd then everyone from 5-10 coming in hot and bursting through the pack mid corner hahahahaha. Good times.

^^ That's why boost is good.. Sorts it all out at the end.. It's light hearted fun, people were a lot more serious about it when it first came out.. Making money while racing mates and drifting is awesome.

you need a car with downforce with tyre wear on, i came out in a Gallardo and tyres were gone before the first lap was done then I couldn't turn a corner over 40kph with being thrown off the track.

my corvette was good for 2 1/2 laps before the tyres were rooted.

bloody things drifts so easily even on the racing soft tyres, shame you cant upgrade the brakes on the cars either as i couldnt pull up for shit in it, which is wierd as in the real world the ZR1 pulls up quite well.

Best races are allways the slow cars around nurburgring i reakon.

Had fun last night but driving standards were fairly poor. You can cut other drivers some slack on the auto generated tracks we've never driven before but the with the standard tracks there's no excuse.

Next week I think I'll make the room public which will also allow kicking repeat offenders from the room.

If you were to open the event up publicly, it could likely hamper the relatively problem-free and smooth connection we have now; all of us being in Perth.

You could possibly turn on certain penalties to encourage 'safer' racing... and just make people aware that if you're going to do a lot of genuinely 'dirty' racing, you'll not be playing again.

Anyway, as for last week I only kept the one replay... took a few shots. It was a great last lap on this track too between me and second place! Sorry I forget who it was but nice job! Quality, respectful, clean racing which went to the wire! Lead chopped and changed a few times.

Penalties only work so far because with boost on no one has to worry about being left behind coz theyre driving like a dick

Bit of a double-edged sword because boost also helps people that get punted off
