Bit of a noob question here guys, but something thats just started bugging me.

I've got a fairly ecent computer, only medium range spec (i5, 6gb ram, 1gb ATI video card) its got a 1080p monitor with it though.

Then i've got my xbox/ps3. Now their hardware is at least 4 years old than my pc, but running a fairly recent game on my pc i.e. Bulletstorm, it stuggles when running it under 1080p resolution, so I had to down the Res to make it run fluent, However running the same game on xbox/ps3 would run fine (most of the time) on 1080p.

Is it becuase the PC has a more demanding Operating System running in the background? or is there something else that would help to slow it down?

the games will always need lower specs when they are designed specifcly for the hardware, ie consoles.

make sure on the pc that you have the latest patches or fixes installed for the games then if its still shit looking for a tuning guide for the games

noob computer opinion here but could it be a console has the game written to perform best to the consoles ability.
Where as a PC game is written to the latest/newest PC's ability.

Plus a game consoles purpose is 99% to play games where as a PC is designed to perform other fuction AND play games.
