Hi everyone what are the fines/demerit points lost being on your green P's and going about 13km/h over?
Im guessing being on green p plates one has 4 demerit points?
So how many points would someone lose or what happends?
Does anyone know?

Do a burnout then when the cop pulls you over, you can ask him.
Problem solved.

will be 2 points, unless you got done on double demerits
and its 4 points for the first 12 months of p plates, 8 points for the rest of p's
so if u have had greens for 6 months, u have 8 points

^ Thanks mate, appreciate it
dont they take a few k's off to make up for correction/error ? you could even fall under the 10km and over bracket and not lose any? Ive been flashed doing 73 in a 60 zone before and it came as 75 dollar fine and no demerits (fine claimed i was doing 68km/h, could be due to my speedo being out, i doubt it though

They take 2km off minimum with the old cameras. New ones aren't deducted at all.

Yes they do.

There are two types of Novice Driver;
Novice Driver Type 1:
A person is a Novice Driver Type 1 until they have held a driver’s licence for a period of at least one year or periods adding up to one year, and includes a first time learner’s permit holder.
Up until the end of the first year of holding a licence a person will only be able to have three (3) demerit points recorded against them. If four (4) or more demerit points are recorded against a person, they will be disqualified for at least three months and any driver’s licence held will be cancelled.
Novice Driver Type 2:
A Novice Driver Type 2 is a person who has held a driver’s licence for more than one (1) year but less than two (2) years.
Up until the end of the second year of holding a driver’s licence, a person will only be able to have seven (7) demerit points recorded against them in total. If eight (8) or more demerit points are recorded against the person, they will be disqualified for at least three months and any driver’s licence held will be cancelled.

Sorry to bump an old thread guys.
Here is a imaginary scenario:
I received a notice in the mail for a speeding fine to the value of 4 points (green form). I forgot to send it off on time to nominate another person.
I received the final demand notice (blue). The wording has now slightly changed from:
You are presumed to be the driver or person in charge of the vehicle at the time of this offense if by the Due Date you have NOT...
to
You are now presumed to be the driver or person in charge of the vehicle at the time of this offense because by the due date of the original infringement you did not..
And I now have to do a stat dec when nominating the other driver.
Basically what I'm asking is, has anyone really been shafted for nominating another driver, if they are PERHAPS taking the points for you?

I'm sure people have been shafted if the person you are nominating says it wasn't them. But if someone has agreed to cop the points for you, no problem.

How do you know you were doing 82 in a 70? My post was made in February while the new system was still being trialled. Things change.
