I'd drill a hole in the little tap handle and lock wire it. Then again I am the nervous type.

Lots of write ups about these in the 4wd world. Yet too see one "it got knocked open" story

4wd has a little more clearance... was more if it hung down for those who it might sit below the cross member with low cars.

FOR EXTREME CONDITIONS
If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles and do not have a sump guard covering the Fumoto Drain Valve, it is recommended that a hose clip or cable tie be used for added safety and security. The hose clip or cable tie will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times.
These can be purchased at hardware stores.
