Hey guys, I have a AE92 Corolla SECA CSX and I currently have standard shocks and I have cut the springs, I have no strut braces or anything special so my car handles like crap. It aqua planes badly and has bad understeer and body roll.
I want to upgrade my whole system, so what I want to know is what setup would be required. I drive it everyday but I also want it to be able to tackle some windy tight cornered roads... (I found out what my car is really capable of on saturday nights cruise in the mundaring area and it was utter ****e)
I am still learning all the requirements of a good suspension system.
So far I was thinking of KONI adjustables all round and polyurethane bushes. What other things could I do to help my car handle better?
Cheers!! Thanks in advance!!!

my advice. go to a toyota wrecker, get hold of some sx strut braces.
fit some superlows - koni adjustables - polyeurethane bushes.
that was my plan if i was goin to drop a ze in.

hahaha
superlows are purely for cosmetics
i'd go a set of tein coilovers
not as expensive as u might think, just a matter of finding some

konis for the ae92 are just strut inserts, fuucking you wil need to buys prings seperate.
best handing gains for your cash would be adjustable rear sway bar
in regards to aqua plaining, hows the tread on your tyres ?

tread is fine. The shocks are so worn that they dont dampen enough to keep the wheel to the ground
does anyone have a price for the koni's?????

Worn shocks, cut springs....recipe for disaster.
My recommendations.
Koni Inserts
Kings/Lovells lows or super lows. If you wanna fork out, get some Eibachs.
Strut braces front and rear if you wanna stiffen things up
Front and rear sway bars
Bushes
Anything will be better than your chopped ****ters and worn shocks, and the above will make your car handle like magic, as long as your tyres are up to it.

Well i mean mine would be a little diff as the SX came with all the sway bars and strut braces, but the KONI i have in the rear and the low springs made a huge diff.
I mean will all come down to how much you wanna spend.

I dont mind paying a grand or so to upgrade, I am not sure what this will cost but I have allowed about 400 a wheel... (This is at trade rate of course and fitted myself)
Cost me 450 for both rear KONIS and springs

koni inserts would be great if you matched them to some decent springs. basically anything off the shelf will be crap. go to springworx, get some nice stiff custom suckers made up. add a strut brace and some swaybars, these are more important than you may think.

never herd of them, I was going to go to wilkinsons, I am waiting for someone I know to source some for me if he can.
Yeah I understand sway bars are important but I still cant workout how a strutbrace makes allot of difference, I understand it makes the front end more rigid and stops flex in the body. I havent driven a car witha brace yet so how much of a difference it makes in handling Im not sure.

strut brace wont do **** all unless u have the hole package get adjustable rear sway bar, camber, castor plates for the front some decent shocks frt and rear and low springs to low will just cause probs never heard of springworx either
Brace up your entire car and you'll soon see the difference.
FWD econo cars turned into hot hatches benefit especially from this.
