He then said he was targeting imports around freo area,so be carefull if your heading freo area

Whats worse, is the people who drive at 5 K under the speedlimit, UNTILL an overtaking lane, when tehy speed up to abotu 10/15 k OVER, forcing you to speed, or stay behind them, and as soon as teh overtaking lane finishes, tehy go back to their 5k under.i just got back from a trip to busso for a night, and on the way down AND back, i counted at least 30 cases of "overtakeiaphobia"
']There is a time and a place for speeding.
really ? do you abide by your words of wisdom when you go out on a cruise ?
One would think that u wouldnt dare break the speedlimit whilst out cruising etc, especially if u had a passenger or 2, and run the risk of endangering there or anyone elses life, as that would classify you as a hipocrit wouldnt it ?
']I hate people who drive under the speed limit, but have never lost my license in 5 years.
Just a little bit of information for ya, u can lose your license for **** other than speeding. I lost my license the first time for **** that wasnt speed related. (3 pts for no seatbelt, 3 pts for goin thru a red light camera, 3 pts for creating undue & excessive noise & 3 pts for failing to indicate)
Unlucky anyway Mark. Next time tell Leeroy to drive. :)

i lost mine for dirt driving,, excessive noise, seatbelt (took it out to replace it, was on way to shops) not enough tread on a tyre...
he could have lost it for many things other than speeding.

Thanks Beau!
I bought it on myself fully, but m starting to think it may be a set up! The vy sdn accliam pulled out from 500m before the form one lane,he was doing about 75 then once he gunned it to get in front for the form one lane he slowed down to 60 in a 70.Police dont have acclaims but it may be one of there own cars.I may just be paranoid but traffic cops need to bust people over the double demerit long weekend and this would be a great way to do it.

You related your loss of license to speeding, and in particular overtaking people didnt you? thats seems to be the point of discussion so far. I understood your original thread to read that you continually get done for speeding.
And on cruises, yes one does speed, but not on a Sunday arvo down West Coast Hwy. It cop city down there. As I said, there is a time and a place for speeding. If you were on a cruise, perhaps I would be a little more sympathetic. Perhaps you dont know the area too well, I dont know. Just seems odd how people complain about getting speeding fines when the speed limit is blaintantly obvious. Something like this is just hard luck.
If it were excessive noise or sumthing, perhaps it could be contested as every case is different, but when your speeding and its caught on camera/radar, there is no point arguing. Everyone is well aware of DD weekends and their penalties. You speed at your own risk.
On cruises I speed all the time like most of us, so no, slugwrx, Im no angel. As for being a hypocrit, I dont think so. I said there is a time and a place for speeding. Never said I dont do it. And never said I do it on a Sunday arvo down a main Hwy with no apparent reason except that the person on front is driving slow.....
Just dont agree with the fact that people complain about being caught speeding. Cop the fine, and move on....
Perhaps a 6th suspension will teach you a lesson. ninja32 Im not having a go as lots of people come on here and complain about speeding fines and I cant work out why. When I get one, I take it on the chin and move the **** on with only myself to blame....
I do however, agree that they are targeting imports at the moment, just ask Cerbera and his clash with the booze bus brigade on West Coast Hwy last night :flipa:
Another 2c for ya....

12 points in one go, damn that's harsh! Unlucky dude! I seen handheld radar near Adventure World this morning, lucky I was cruisin 50, because I didn't see them till it was too late.
I reckon this double demerits system is a load of wang really, they invented the demerit system years ago so drivers had a fair chance of warnings on the road, ie 12 points.. then they go and halve it in certain weekends.
I can see double demerits being the norm soon, and those being doubled again on long weekends. I bet Ms Roberts would be loving that idea.

Im not complaining about losing my licence or the fine. i know the consiquences but i thought i was harsh to to pin me on overtaking.I think its better to gun it and get off the other side of the road while overtaking. If some tosser is doing 60-65 in a 70 how long will it take to pull out and overtake at 70klm? If i were racing etc fair enough.Plus there were not a car on the road exept Mr tosser and MR PIG! oh well 3 months to do some major mods.

It's funny because I truelly didn't realise it was double demerits this weekend. I drove like the biggest tool on the freeway going to work and coming back... not slowing down once and never got caught. It seemed a bit stupid for cops not to have something on the freeway to catch speeders. Found out it was double demerits last night and considered myself lucky as anything for not being done on the freeway...
There is a time and a place for things, if you know its not the time or the place then be prepared to be treated like the idiot you acted like.

cops were definately out in force yesterday!
going through the booze bus on west coast hwy, had a burgandy r33 with white rims pulled over, just after the boose bus, bonnet up etc etc..
also, i was driving through cottesloe, behind a s14, he had a yellow sticker and a marked police car drove past, stared at him big time.. Not long after, a car comes speeding up behind me (in the mean time a car pulls out and cuts him off) i noticed it was an unmarked car with uniforms (that sped up).. Puts the siren on the roof (isnt on, or flashing).. I thought ohh yeah he is going to do something to the guy who cut him off.. That car turns off, nope..
Rides right up my bum (I wasnt driving my car so i was ****ting) I slowed down and drove to the left, there was a lil break in traffic coming towards us, unmarked cop car swerves out, no lights, sirens, or indication, cuts me off (had to slam on my breaks) getting inbetween me and the s14, then beeps his horn at the s14 with his arm out the window telling him to pull over! This made me so angry, the way they went about it etc grrrrrrr Poor guy was doing nothing but cruising along, definately being targeted..
Also saw a VS Ute pulled over by highway patrol in the east perth station carpark bonnet and tray cover up getting raped..

i told him i couldnt and he goes why not, i told him to look at my car and look at the curb... it doesnt fit does it
he told me to drive up the road... then started shoving on my guards, lucky it isnt a gtr or the Al guards would have been bent hard. then he tried to lift my guard and goes look at this i cant even lift this, the suspension is too hard. i nearly died of laughter and tried to explain that the car weighed 1300 kilos and im not suprised he couldnt lift it.
i also showed him all my permits and the reciept that i went over the pits the friday before with that suspension.
so he gave me a sticker for not enough a suspenion travel, so i have to waste another $50 tommorrow just to go over the pits again, is there any way i can get a refund? i got his police station phone number and his badge and name???

I think the penalties for speeding should be applied equally to the ****heads that sit UNDER the limit. ie 10k's under is the same fine for 10ks over and so on. Its the dumb fark slow drivers and right lane hogs that cause normal law abiding citizens to lose patience and break the speed limit to get around these idiots....
And the Police need to POLICE everyone not just those in performance cars.

umm i'm going to disagree with a lot of stuff said in here.
first of all, was it really necessary to hit 115 when passing the slow car? thats almost double their speed maths fans. and it would hae taken you a fair ammount of time to hit that speed no matter what car you were in. you don't think that 115 was a bit excessive? i'm all in favour of getting back in the correct lane asap but what you did was just asking for trouble and totally unnesacery.
the next thing, coppers out late at night. they are out to stop people doing dumb dangerous stuff. and what is our favourtie time of day to do dumb stuff? let me think. the law is there for a reason. just because you own a nice car and are an enthusiast doesn't give you the right to be exempted from the law. as much as i disagree with some areas of the law they aren't going to be changing any time soo n so get used to it. also remember that the laws are designed to cater to the lowest common denominator, that means that your grandma should be albe to drive her 40 year old corona that she's owned since new down to the servo at midnight in the poring rain and not have any troubles with the road. i'd imagine she's going to have troubles if a car comes out of a side street going a lot faster than she.
if you get caught breaking the law, especially breaking it by as much as you did, you have to cop it on the chin and expect bugger all sympathy from anyone else. there is no excuse to hit those sort of speeds when overtaking. if you just sat on 75 - which is legal in a 70 zone (they have to allow for 10% difference in speed for accuracy of cars speedos and their own equipment) you would have been past them pretty quickly if they were going 60 like you said.
slow drivers **** me to tears as well but ferkin hell.
and how the hell do you loose your lisence 6 times dude? thats fkn rediculous! you can't possibly expect people to take your whinge seriously when you are that much of a slow learner.
and before you say i'm some whittering nancy boy that always goes by the law, i've lost half the points on my lisence, and could have lost it on the spot 3 or 4 times - magic 1 and scoobs can confirm this - if not for some very quick thinking and some fantastic bull****ting. yes i speed on cruises where its not totally inappropriate and have no qualms about cruising at 200kmh out in the middle of nowhere (that means a long way out of the metro area) when the only person i'm going to kill is myself.
being an arrogant prick to em just gets you into more ****. trying to prove your a big man and letting them know that you think they are a dick just digs you an even deeper grave. to be honest you're lucky you didn't get hoon lawed.
i really hope you stay off the road for a bit longer and sort yourself because in all honesty i think drivers like you are a liability to the car scene in perth.
i await your reply.
After my experiences with cops i now generalise all police as dogs. The amount of respect i have for most traffic officers is zilch.
Having said that i'm sure you'll say "you cant generalise all cops". Yes. Very true that would be unfair but i treat them in the same light they treat me - a big ****ing generalisation - **** em.
Sully
08-06-2005, 11:29 PM
well yeah a lot of em are right dicks and i've been pulled over for some totally pointless ****. one of the last cruises i went on the coppers had been about 100 metres down the road from a meet point watching everyone leave doing sick one leggers, and they pulled me over for having my fog lights on. yes i was pissed and yes i thought they were wankers for doing it but i was polite and i got off with just a warning instead of minus 3 points.
but at the end of the day they give as good as they get. if you just go along with what they are saying as long as they aren't making **** up then you are more than likely to get off a lot lighter than you might have otherwise. there is no point being a dick to em cos they'll just bend you over even more.
Not when you haven't done anything wrong, they can't ping you for **** and you've already got a yellow. Give them as much possible - badged heroes. Probably end up with a red ahah
Sully
09-06-2005, 12:17 AM
yeah fkn great idea that one. lets get a red and get our car classed as totally rooted. i should go out and do that right now.
if you've been pulled over for nothing then ask them what you've been pulled over for. if they try to sticker you for somethign that they can't sticker you for, then point out that it is infact legal but don't be a prick about it, then ask them how they have come to the conclusion that it is illegal - 9 out of 10 times they haven't properly checked it and don't have the correct equipment to do so, and cite the law, same goes for if you get pulled over for dodginess with a radar gun, there is a whole heap of rules that they are suppsed to work by that they never do. i'll post up the document when i find it again.
generally if you get pulled over its for a reason even something small (like foglights) but usually against the law, things like ride height and wheels too big are usually a give away. once they have you on the side of the road then they go to town looking for antyhing. almost every modded car can be stickered for something, mine could get done for about 5 things at the moment. just don't attract unwanted attention to yourself. i know a number of members on this forum who have cars with mods which would attract an instant yellow on the spot if a copper head anything. they manage to get them selves out of tight situations without being pulled over, can't imagine why less vulnerable cars should have a problem.
*edit* hand held camera operations manual. is for NSW but i'd imagine that the guidleines are hte same here as the technology is the same

Im not going to ark up or abuse you or try and prove im right coz im wrong.I agree with all you said and my temper with slow drivers should stop.Like i said before ,i didnt put this thread on for a winge but to maybe stop someone else from getting done aswell, coz the week before i was with some antilag boys and the speeds getting done were deffinetly above 150klm down there so i shouldnt be singled out.
The only thing i disagree with you is what you said about bieng a liability to the perth car scene.Thats not true .I did lose my licence 5 times due to driving like a idiot around lockridge beechboro ,burnouts scarbz, kings park 6-7 years ago when it was acually a major event on the weekends and doing this stuff in thse areas got me into alot of trouble .To be honest in the last 3-4 yrs i have lost bugger all points .I have learnt my lesson,i lost my licence all those times in the first 6 years of my licence nearly once a year and im sure lots of other people have done this .At least i never drink and drive.
Overtaking even at 115 is safe down that road is safe there are no side streets and you have clear view of any cars that are coming cos it is a nice strait bit of road ,this is why police sit at the bottom of that bit of road
So yeah i agree with ya ,you stated correct facts and this is what forums are about ,to state you opinion and i have no problem with that

cheers for a good reply. if you've lost bugger all points in the last few years and have stopped acting like a tool on the road then i withdraw my statement about being a liability.
even though it may be safe to drive fast down that road its still a crapola idea to be driving way above the speed limit like that especially if its a known police hangout. have a look at the "speed limits that **** you thread" if you want my full run down.

don't think the police should be too worried about it. there's nothing to say that we can't identify places where police put multanovas and hand helds. the list for multanovas is in the paper and everything. at the end of the day they are supposed to be there for "road safety" so they "should" actually like what they are doing

was just going with the rest of your post and what you had previously said. it appears that you have an interesting attitude towards police and you should give them as much hassle as possible. i woulnd't be surprised if that wind up in you getting more **** from them than you would have otherwise been.
I'm not going to pander to some dim-witted cop who thinks they have unlimited powers cause they wear a badge. That's exactly what they would like, but the reality is a high percentage of them are morons at best, who flaunt the law which ever way THEY see fit, not the law. A real life case for example, i was taken to court over a charge of reckless driving, the police thought that i, as a joe citizen, and them as badge wearing heroes could allege whatever they liked against me. Once in court they realised that a. They can't allege speeds on their 'estimations' and b. Their story holds no extra weight than mine, yours or any other persons. This just goes to show that uneducated officers will pretend they have the power to walk all over you and unless you fight it they will keep this mindset. There is procedures and protocal in place which they must follow yet very few do as they believe since they are the law, they're above it. Hence my opinion of the majority of traffic police.
thing that makes me slow down is the thought of killing a mate. that would really suck
True. You'd want to and in my personal opinion almost feel obliged to kill yourself. How could you ever face anyone again eh. Very bad thought which is a very real chance with some driving behaviour.
Sully
09-06-2005, 01:55 PM
true, a lot do act like wankers but i'd rather be cooperative with them but make sure that they are doing the correct thing at the same time. it always throws them off if you know the law inside out and can point out that what they are trying to do you for is actually perfectly legal or that they themselves broke the law without authorisation to pull you over, they actually can not chase you down and break road laws if they have not actually called it in and received the appropriate authourisation. a family friend of our got off "running an orange light" through this because the coppers hung a u turn through a red light. you usually get out of what you are being pulled over for as long as you go about it the right way.
True. It's just a shame for the minority of officers that are reasonable and top blokes that their counterparts can be so narrow-minded and ignorant. As with anything in life, the actions of a few speak for the group as a whole.
