This game makes me rage so much. I also miss the pre-patch shotgun sniping from opposite sides of the map - being able to drop a chopper pilot out of his seat just as his whole team are taking off was my favourite part of the game...

If you are good enough you can still kill the chopper pilot. I've done it many times - even with a pistol from long range haha.

What level are you pingpingpingpings? I'm 32 and since level 30 it takes me weeks to gain levels... Fuck knows how these pingpingpingpings get to level 50

Level 28 or so. I stopped playing once I unlocked everything. Became kinda pointless. Unlock progression needs to be like COD, you need to get to max level to get better weapons.

Do all the challenges. You get good exp from them.

Oh yeah I still drop them out pretty consistently, but with the first shotgun + 12g slugs, you could one-shot-kill them from any range before they patched it. Always got accused of hacking when four people burn and die in their own base, and it comes up with a shotgun icon... lol

ah got ya - yeh the levelling of the weapons has made the game much more enjoyable though.

BC2 will always be better then COD:BO simply for the fact the multiplayer works and squad/teamwork is far more important then mashing the fire button and spraying for effect.

Jumped on the othe rday - 2Gb of updates. Game seems less stressful now, been enjoying quite a bit! The new maps seem pretty decent, and having an ACOG on the M14 is a lot of win

I'll give you a few tips that I follow...

It's all about score per minute to increase your score per minute

- drop med and ammo packs.
- If playing recon run in with your pistol and chuck a motion mine into heavy fighting

I check http://bfbcs.com/stats_pc/mullmans pretty much before every time I fire up the game... if you look through you can see which weapons you are close to getting a gold star and make an effort to use them. Also check the insignias section for 5000/10000 point bonuses and chase them.

Or the other night I noticed I had 1 kill to get the gold star for light vehicles so I made an effort to jump in one instead of taking the tank, bam 5000 points for one kill.

I don't use the CG anymore beacuse I've gone platinum and won't get any bonus points.

Last thing you can do is shell out $6 for the specact pack which gives you 4 new weapons and 4 new insignias to that are easy to get.

essentially an exact copy of the m95, ump etc etc

which means you can get another gold star with the bonus insignia

100 kills
500 bronze
1000 silver
5000 points gold star
5000 points specact insignia

plus special 200 point pins for efficiency and kill streaks with specact gear

vs 5000 for 100 kills with the normal gun (second gold star)

I'm on level 45 on PS3, and level 20 on PC. I haven't played for long on PC though. The trick is to get your gold stars on weapons. Pick a weapon you're comfortable with and play the shit out of it, then move onto another. Keep in mind some weapons 'level up' quicker than others. For example all pistols, rocket launchers, 40mm grenade and shotgun only need 500 kills to platinum, compared to the primary weapons which need 950 or so. Also, if you're playing regular mode, spot as much as you can, there's easy points right there.

That last update made an already balanced set of weapons into a perfectly balanced set of weapons. Shotguns with buck shot have been buffed. The F2000 (one of my favs) on the move is as accurate as a fkn laser beam now. The Carl G has been nerfed to highlight it's role as an anti-infantry only rocket launcher. The RPG and AT4 (the best of the rocket launchers on PC anyways) have been buffed. They're absolute beasts against armor now (especially once you get used to the AT4 wire guided system), and it's flight time has decreased so you don't have to stand out in the open as long. Etc, etc.

Because PS3 has been down i've been playing under my mates account on PC (he bought the game and never played it). I'll probably be on tonight so add me if you like; 'kkid'.

Either one of those links should work. It lets you tweak settings like vehicle sense, to FOV, to graphics etc. Have you ever noticed when you get in a vehicle the sensitivity is like hell low? Even if your soldiers is high? This fixes that.
