What is the best double sided tape out there for Automotive applications? (ie: trim/badges etc)
A while back I had one of those tinted sun visors/deflectors that go at the top of the rear window - just sticks on with double sided tape. I used the most expensive stuff I could find at Bunnings, trusting what was said on the label (weather/water/UV proof). Well I was wrong, and in a big storm the wind took the visor off and smashed it into a million pieces.

Anyway, just found a replacement visor and need some slightly better double sided tape this time. I'm guessing there is an automotive specific 3M type or similar around?

Yeah the 3m shit is good, if you never want it to come off ever again use some sikaflex.

Can't say I have seen the 3M stuff available in retail stores though?
May have to hit up ebay.

Most hardwares should stock 3M tapes... If not Try Heatley's in Canning Vale, they do their own DS Tape as well as 3M

Pretty sure bunnings don't have the automotive stuff.
You can get it from US ebay.

Ok, it seems the really good 3M stuff (Very High Bond) is not available via retail as it's designed for industrial purposes. Have found it on ebay US, but is ~$40 (excluding postage) for a 150m roll (I only need 1% of that length).
CBF'd waiting for stuff to arrive from overseas anyway.
Apparently the 3M tape at Bunnings is actually the same stuff, just in smaller rolls and sold as Exterior use double sided tape. Will pass by Bunnings later and see for myself.

I rate it pretty highly for everything I've used it for.

Nothing beats 3M tape......it's the best. :)
Officeworks seems to be the only place now to buy them. I purchased them from Bunnings before but they don't seem to stock them now.
