trying to get this car looking like less of a sticker magnet for the trip over east..
need the following
VN manual centre console top (bit around shifter with the ciggie lighter in it, with rubber boot if possible.)
VT/VX/VY/VZ gear knob from a 6spd, I have one but the guts are torn out so it sits too loose and is useless :(
i think that's it actually.. rest is pretty much complete

ok so i found a lovely vy ss gear knob but i didn't buy it since i've no idea how to get it off the shaft...
why do GMM provide a ripshift shaft to suit factory gear knobs when it seems you can't get them off without gutting them anyway ??
Pretty sure the knobs just pop off?? Yank upwards.

will do this.
dad picking up a vy ss shifter assy with red stitching at the wreckers for me on the way home :) pretty...
gona yank the shit out of it and hope it doesn't gut itself like the vx clubby leather knob i have here did :'[
wonder if it's possible to get the vy ss gear lever boot to fit in the vn console... much nicer than the shitty square rubber vn/p/r/s ones..
meanwhile, wiring up new battery terminals and running 4ga power wire to the boot. yay. love last minute jobs.

There is a DIY on LS1 putting VY+ boot and shifter onto VT-VX.. Check it for a how to, if the measurements are all good you'll be able to copy.
Yes, factory boot can used with vn-vs shifter surrounds.

if its just floppy plether boot then just find a way of "sticking" it onto the VN trim
