I'm after 5 x 265/65/17 new 4X4 tyres for my Pajero, anyone got a hookup in the tyre industry? I'm getting rid of the Cooper ATR's and was thinking something along the lines of a BFG A/T or similar.

Any recommendations?

I got Mickey Thompsons from Beach Road tyres and Brakes in Malaga.

They give the best price right off the bat with no haggling by a long shot. And very good service. Not sure if they do BFG but def worth a call.

St George Tyres in Sydney. Awesome pricing - you have to call them to get a price, but I'm going to get the exact same size in BFGs when I wear out my current ones on the Prado.

I think (from memory) it was around $330/tyre plus $120 to ship them here to your door.

Like Scott, I also have Mickey T's x2 sets in the 17" variety... bloody noisy things they are!

Wranglers are quiet, probably the best tyre through sand. very good in mud, and quiet on the freeway.

Shit man, that's a keen price. How do they compare to the BFG T/A's? The only reason I mentioned BFG's is because I like the tread pattern and although they are an old design they still work. I've gone off the Coopers, or at least the ATR's.

PM me your contact details.

Thanks,
Jason.

The Coopers are a great Tyre, But the hard sidewalls make sand hard work at times, Tyre pressures need to be low straight up. Also Get noisey if you dont rotate them heaps.

I would go the Micky T's if you want to try somthing else, They are stronger than the BFG's

mickey t's get bad rep on perth4x4.net

dont last very long, and very noisy

get maxxis or bfg

i run bfg mtr's but for the extra price you dont need them for what you do

Mickey T's are made in the same factory as the Coopers are anyway. Have the same sidewall and will be very similar to the performance of the Coopers (If not a little worse). So if you didn't want them again I would not suggest the Mickeys.

What about Toyo Open Country All Terrains? That would probably be where I'd put my monet if I wanted an AT tyre.

BFG all terrain = the best.

Thanks. I've gone the Goodyear Wrangler A/T from fowens.

The Cooper ATR's I've got are too tall (my fault) and being LT's the rubber is hard as fuck and don't provide much grip in the wet. Done 44k on them and they still look like they have over 50% tread on them.

Thanks for the excellent price and service Dan. The tyres have transformed the Paj, it's a pleasure to drive once again. The Cooper's were simply too big and tall for it.
