If you work for the State Government - like me, no web proxy will work. ServiceNet have disabled and blocked access to them all :(

closest google image to what I am doing... making and checking chemotherapy (yes it's full 70s style equipment)

gotta love the public health system when you make up $6000 worth of product with a 24 hour expiry and the patient doesn't feel like turning up that day

will quit job if they block antilag.com

70s style equipment? Do explain.. sounds interesting, like a mad scientist lab!

I used to have to take the people back from the Cath lab to their room once they had Spheres done (don't believe it's the same as just Chemo) but we weren't allowed to let anyone else in the lift with them due to them being radioactive for a short time. Made me feel real safe n shit. /csb

some pics I took today for you :)

will explain later

yes it is quite dangerous, chemotherapy kills cancer but can also cause cancer. the cyto hood is in a room with a lower pressure than the rest of the facility in order to drag the particles/vapours inwards

you also cant work in there if you are pregnant or planning on fathering a child, for 12 months or something like that

http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/2992/0019021460.jpg

aseptic suite, designed to protect the product from bugs. the hood blow HEPA filtered air onto the product which stops things floating into the hood an contaminating everything. we make iron infusions, total parental nutrition, eye drops, basically anything that needs to be sterile.

mussi is training to be a pharmacist, so was in there to watch. bet her immam would be pissed if he saw those ankles on display. I'm pissed cos she shouldn't have bare skin in there - it might break off and float around the room.

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4497/0039030554.jpg

mad scientist spec polarised light box thing, allows you to see particles in the product so you can make sure it isn't contaminated by fibres or particles

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/115/0049039997.jpg

70s spec heat sealer, light box and digital scales to 4 decimal points of a gram

http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/3852/0069049053.jpg

http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/1168/0079057441.jpg

from the left:
70% sterilised ethanol on the left, sprayed on absolutely everything before we put it in the hood to kill bugs.
sterile gloves, about $8 a pair. we change gloves every three preps and make 30-60 preps a day
air sampler, sucks the air volume of the room a few times over in 6 minutes to check nothing is growing in the air

http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/3333/0089074274.jpg

dial on the left hand side monitors air pressure - we need to make sure there is a 50 pascal difference in air pressure between the inside room and the overpass

http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/3979/0099081494.jpg

cyto hood, protects the maker from the product and the product from the atmosphere. purple bins are cytotoxic bins -0 if you see a purpble bin anywhere stay the fuck away from it

http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/549/0109088281.jpg

spill kit and old school intercom. if you spill soething in there you must don the respirator and clean it up with the spill kit before you come out. noone is allowed to come in and help you.

http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/2723/0119095846.jpg

protective clothing needs to be sent over east to be cleaned

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/654/0129104535.jpg

you need to scrub in with iodine scrub and dress in overalls etc to go in there

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/4955/0139111683.jpg

iron infusion. would be freaky to see that black shit running into your arm

Wasn't serious. I've had a gf with a brain tumor in the past so I'm not aiming to offend on that front. You still mad over that bunky Telstar Turbo spot I posted like 2 years ago? Chill out bro.

Also, yes this is far more interesting than my workplace, good idea for a new thread!

@Mullmans, Howd you get into such line of work? My hats off to you!
My aunt has terminal brain cancer. And about 7 months ago my dad had a brain tumor removed. Not cancer related though, But such things tear familys apart.

Try setting your home computer up for remote control. Use windows RDP, or VNC, or PC Anywhere, or any number of other little bits of software. I'm sure at least one of them will get through their blocking, especially if the blocking is just based on blocking websites.
Remote into your home PC, browse whatever you like :)

In High school we used to use google translate to get to blocked sites, you could try that, paste gmail into google translate set it to translate to English from English and see what happens.
