well i thought id do a thread for my new build .
always had jzx90's(i think 5 in total) ps one is for sale , and had 1x jzx100 before , regretfully i sold the jzx100.

so i was on the hunt for another one as my 400 hp hiace van just doesnt cut it in the fast cornering and general handling aspects.

i was very interested in ovaxitd chaser ( even thou im not all that keen on pearl white ) but that path never eventuated

so i came across this great buy over in middle of qld ( 6 hrs brissy ) , and made the purchase site unseen.

couple of weeks before xmas it landed , and the week before xmas it was lic'd and ready for action.

ok these are the specs i purchased it with
1998 jzx100 series 2 ,auto , sunroof , factory torsen lsd , 040 white , teins coils , greddy front mount ,apexi intake , rostra cruise control kit , pwr trans cooler , 044 mounted intank , greddy profec spec2 , and greddy TTimer , pioneer 6 stacker indash TV/dvd, greddy emanage ultimate , near new works xt7 18x8.5 18x9.5, factory body kit , crystal clear corner lights

now for the plans..

firstly , just want ya opinion on wheel choice .. here's some pics which looks better the 18' xt7 or the 19's work vs-mx

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y3/slylux/photo13.jpg

plans are 2jz, to4z , powerfc or haltec plat2000 ( i have both so deicide later which one ) , shift kitted auto and stall . i was going to go getrag 6sp , but im lazy so thats for sale too , along with the greddy emanage ultimate

also when i decide on which wheels i wanna run with .. the other set will be for sale , im swaying towards keeping the 19" chromies.

Two different wheel looks, one more VIP and the other racer style. For that car, I think the 19's suit it but if you can, keep both for when the change of mood calls.

XT7's look good, but the fitment of the 19's appears to be better.

Not really a fan of either, but judging by your indecision you probably aren't either...

19s for the street 18s for the track, or keep the 18s and ill take the 19s for my hilux.

Yea 19 are 9 inch front 10" rear. So it sure does fill the guards . Tj I know manual can be better . But I'm going to try with an auto first and if I don't like it I can always go to manual later.
I'm prob going to have a manualised auto option with paddle shift from steering wheel. So it be almost a manual other than clutch engagement

Damn these cars have such a nice factory kit.
Personally like the 19s better - somewhat suits the shape/era of the car.

Even though, if the 18s had a slightly lower offset/higher width - they would of been really good too!

How much did it cost you to get the car sent to WA?

Go with the power FC, and sell me the halltech!!

I didn't think the FC would work with an auto box?

Dang xt7s looks the shithot on white car and the works arent to shabby either...

Purchase price of car and having it landed in WA and regod was still cheaper then what people where asking in WA for 100's. Super clean crisp car and will go like cut snake with 2J and TO4Z.

Another Getrag do tell :)

Yes power fc for jzx100 do a manual an an auto version. The haltec is not plug n play for jzx100 I'll have to wire in with the 2jz harness.

I think I'm sticking with the bronze 18's as I'm prob going to fry some tyres and wouldn't mind the extra bite that 18's have over stretched 19's

Bronze rims KILLA ! Seen this combo many times on white 100's, love the ride height mr. exhaust scraper :p

Id go with Power FC which means Mick can tune it with 2J to an inch of its life :)

Sell the P2000 to all the 2J noobs or put into killa van setup...giddy...

Dam it's 50/50 on wheel selection. I got the bronze fitted ATM. 2jzlux was dead set on chromies too but in real he reckons the bronze are better. Pic is deceiving.

Ive bought a few cars over from east. Usually 1200-1600. Goes by truck to ratalaid then train from there. This was 1600 cause was in middle of nowhere . Brissy depo to Perth deppo would of been $1250.

Aristoman
03-01-2011, 06:35 PM
I dont need to see it in the flesh because bronze rims tear the chromies a new one :) Please fit lock nuts so you dont put the chromies back on :p

Still getting it sent over from back of beyond was shitloads cheaper then locally !

Total, JZX junky. I don't know how you haven't gotten over these cars yet haha.

XT7's look gay in my opinion, they need epic concave to look good. The 19's look far better.

Super jealous of the sunroof and S2.

I think you should manual it, feel free to hit me up for a drive in mine to solidify your thoughts on it.

^ What Rufio said, the 19's look much better!

I think XT7's look best on wrx's and evo's.

my jzx90 was 2jz manual .. was good , but ill try auto first .. much faster down the drags , and cheaper.

i really enjoy driving the hiace which is auto . and when ya making decent power (which is on future cards ) there aint any need to stab the clutch to gain wheelspin , if i was sticking with the 1jz then yea , prob go manual , but 2jz , big turbo , and stalled auto turns it into an animal

yea im a jzx junky ,
maybe i should just run the wheels like the pics , bronze on left , chromies on right .. hahaha jks

i have a feeling the 18's would hook up better than the 19's

i spose i can always put the 19's on the other 100 im getting , which is dark green.

The pics are very deceiving, i prefered the 19's when i saw the pics but the XT7"s look way better in person, hard choice two hot sets of rims.
Just fit the 19's to the dark one.

Correct, can't buy myself one and leave her out. Thus the jzx90 forsale bump. Be nice to move that.

Nice.

To be honest I reckon the VS's will look better on hers if its the same colour as mine..

The grey and green wont mix well.

I'm still keen on the van if you ever sell it! :)
Lot of Chaser love going on, if I had my time again I think I would have gone for one of those instead of the Soarer. As much as I love the coupe the tough foor doors are just so cool.

yea update on this . i went with the 18 bronze , as i have 4 pots for it , and the 18's have big brake clearance ( sometimes we have to sacrifice a bit of looks for function )
im still collecting parts for the project and it will be a fair wile off before its running , time is just too short and juggling this and that.

i bought a 3800 stall and mv 1.5 shift kit as it was going to be auto ,
but ive collected a manual now and prob going down that path as manual with this car.
ps stall and shift kit for sale suit jzz30 , jzx90 1jzgte autos

kappo 2jz all the way ! haha
i did think of sticking with the vvti 1jz for a bit but i think 2jz is worth the effort .. plus u have been in my van .. u know how it peels strips at 60-80 km in a 1800 kg tank

will update .. good to see some jzx100 chaser's starting to get popular , justr a shame this forum moderator bailed ! hehe

so when is the 2j going in.....lol...

its now not copping a 2jz manual :(
my overly paid job is not looking very god in the future and they have announced they are closing down in 3 months or so .. so with 600k in mortages i figured i better sell all the fruit i have been collecting for this car
(as seen in my forsale thread , but i only have 800cc sards and a new t04z left to sell )

BUT the good news is im goin to put a bigger single on the vvti 1jz and follow in similar fashion to tristan in his chaser.

ive made a t3 adaptor plate and welded a wastegate port to the stock manifold , to sit the tial 44mm gate on , and a gt35r with .82 rear housing . i just need to await the backordered powerfc and drop in some 550cc and fit the turbo to the car ( as its all been dummy fitted to a spare 1jz i got )
