Ok before I throw my fucking laptop and Ipod down the street I better see if someone can help.
I just got a new Ipod 4 thingy, now as I had to fuck my computer, future computers and my daughters future computers and suffer unbalanced tires and also sell my soul to satan and installed Itunes.
Now the problem is that despite its an un user friendly pile of dog shit, I'm trying to add a folder, instead it adds each fucking song from the folder instead, I want it as a seperate fucking album, not 300 fucking songs, and deleting them is becoming a pain in that ass.How do I get it to add it as a folder?
Why the fuck would you own an Iphone if you had to deal with this POS everytime you wanted to do the slightest thing.
Fucking rage enabled!

Lol I hate iTunes also. I think all you can do is select those songs you wanted as a playlist. It creates own folders by artists by itself

Did you have a way to fix this or just silly remarks?
The albums are based on album names on the ID3 tags. Your own folders doesn't mean shit. Find an ID3 batch editor and add album names to the songs you want in the same album.

il try and help...
add songs from PC (folder you speak of) to itunes...select all songs you want as an album...right click, get info and then ensure you change the album titling so that they are the same...then drag from itunes to your ipod....once in ipod navigate to 'albums' not 'songs' = problem solved?

That's an easy solution?

I have the same problem! I want it arranged by folders. It makes a mess of everying and is hard to find songs. TJ told me i have to make a playlist for each folder! Surely theres a better way?

fuck all that. Just add them to itunes the way you did before then put them into their own playlist.
To find the files you've just added to the itunes library and not have to sift through everything looking for them, tell it to sort your songs by "date added" (if you can't see that on screen go to "view" and "view options" tick date added) they should be either the first or last files you added depending on how it sorts them.
Then just make a new playlist and bung them all in there. easy as. I don't get all the hate for itunes, it's easy as, you just gotta fiddle a bit to figure it out like any other software.
Is there a program that searches for album art/fixes album names by matching artist and song names for you?

Ended up doing this, makes it messy, but now all songs in own folder.

With some 20,000+ songs, it's managed to edit almost everything. Best $30 I've ever spent. Just drag and drop a few 1000 songs at a time, after a few days your playlist is going to be pretty fucking tidy.

I finally got it sorted, changed the id3 tags or whatever they were with that program listed.
Seems a long winded approach to something that should be a simple drag and drop of a folder.

i have found myself screaming at the laptop for the exact same reason. itunes is the stupidest program ever.
i just use the technique of makeing a new playlist for eveything.
and dont give the bloody thing authority to sync or organise anything. i have 20 odd gig of electro/house/dance and do not want you to organise my music for me.
