Having a bit of a problem creating a model in ANSYS and figured there is probably a few engineers on antilag so i thought maybe one of you can help. What i'm trying to do is determine the effects a particular motion has on an object. But i cant figure out how you apply a motion in ANSYS.
For example if you wanted to model the effects a golf swing had on the club itself you would have to recreate the motion. Does anyone know how this can be done.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Swing said golf club into a coons face at maximum velocity and measure the depth of the impact area and report back. This will have a positive effect on me and Im sure a few others.

From my limited experience in ANSYS at uni and at work, you don't necessarily apply motion, but you apply force or pressure or a moment.
So for said golf club perhaps covert swing velocity into force applied onto club??
Maybe wrong though

try divide by 0 and report the results
Swing said golf club into a coons face at maximum velocity and measure the depth of the impact area and report back. This will have a positive effect on me and Im sure a few others.

what version of ansys are you using? i have used Ansys classic and a very little of Ansys workbench. however as said above you could convert the swing into a force and apply the force on a particular point

Yeah it looks like thats the only option from what i've read, just thought there might be a way of doing it using motion. Doesnt look like it at this point though.

which version are you using?
I use Ansys workbench pretty much every day at work.
In a static-structural analysis, you can apply an acceleration to an object, however you can only apply it in one direction (i.e straight line), i guess this wouldnt be perfectly accurate for something like a golf club swing as that would be a circular motion.
If you have the dynamic analysis module you should be able to simulate dynamic effects a lot better. We dont have this module at work so I couldn't really help with that
let us know if you want any more help..
