Long story short - we go all season undefeated ... play 2 guys in a game that are fill ins ... turns out the game was a SEMI FINAL and they didnt tell us ... ring us last night and say we are not able to play in the GF this week ... so i wrote this ...

We had similar issues

"oh by the way, next week is the semi final"
"but isnt there 4 weeks left"
"oh theres only 4 teams in a grade now, and the standings wont change, so may as well end it now"

We then find out its because two of the teams are actually going on holidays in 3 weeks time, and thus would leave only two teams in a grade to play finals.

There is where becomes an issue - you need to play 4 games to qualify for finals - we had one player who spent 3 months in Europe (bucky ben) and was only 3 games back into it..

So we get told he cant play, which is utter bs as he would have been up to 7 by the time the real finals were scheduled. We complained and eventually they let him play.

The reffing has become a joke -
one player was told "to sit down for 3 minutes because your angry" - not sure where that rule exists in the bball book

rucker aka steve on here is told "to shut the fuck up" for asking for a call to be clarified - he wasnt rude, hadnt said a word all game, and the ref just goes nuts at him

alem off here had at least 5 occasions where he was physically pushed over going for shots in a game.. no fouls ever called.

All in all, your entirely right Ben, and we wont be back either. Shame as just like you, I have played there for pretty much 20 years of my life.

100% correct, indoor sports centres are a cash cow and during midweek comps offer low quality comps with the knowledge that the players will keep pushing through the constant debacles week in week out.

New Alma Venvile center should be finished in the next few months and it looks like it will scrub up quite well.

agree, was always a good comp, even on a social Tuesday or Wednesday night.

Used to have some good wabl teams as well (1's, 2's 23's and 20's)
