hey boys, i know everyone is pretty much playing GT5 but im looking forward to playing a new release from DICE : BFBC2 Vietnam

I think its going to be a pretty Epic FPS game looking at some of the vids on the net.

I have a feeling that PC pre-release was just the one map :(

(though I only tried one server)

Graphics are great but gameplay is less fun than general BC2 - the modern weapons like tracer darts are sorely missed and the chopper is weak as fuck - you can hit someone dead on with a flurry of rockets and not kill them... meanwhile they can have you out of the sky with a machine gun in about 5 seconds

And the alternate weapon on the tanks is a flamethrower with a range of about 2 meters... useless

I think if Dice find its an issue with the strength etc they will release a patch - they did that for BFBC2 - some weapons aren't as effective as they were to add realism etc

Im finding on normal bfbc2 that the hit perception VS damage arent quite tying together, ie drop a full handgun clip on to someone, and its telling you every bullet hit, and them not going down, and we tested the shotgun with standstill and full side strafe at about a 2 meter range, and its not hitting about 10% of the time, so as I havent played vietnam yet, wondering if they have resolved any of those issues?

well the popularity of body armor and the weakness of the handgun could account for the first scenario... I don't expect them to go down unless you get a headshot or use magnum ammo

I just use the auto handgun, blasting a clip always kills them :)

Yes the rego hit boxes have been improved, The game itself was released in he last bc2 patch download, if you have already done that then all you need to do is buy Vietnam expansion and redeem the code

its based on the weapons of the Vietnam war :P they didnt' have UAV's then.
Maybe there's gonna be an upgrade for the sniper to 12x zoom as your progress, they had scopes with 12x zoom then.

There is already 12x zoom sorry in the game or you can use standard scope, only difference is there is no 4x scope

The Vietnam content was actually in the 1.7gb update, the 134kb is just an unlock key.

I love it - and I fucking LOVE the music and ability to change it.

Played a bit more this afternoon...

Started to like it a bit more, you can't play it the same way as normal bc2 so it kinda makes it a while new game :-)

load up bad company 2 as usual, its just a new menu option after MULTIPLAYER it should have VIETNAM

Have you downloaded the last update for bfbc2? Not just the file for Vietnam, but the actual 1.7gig one?

Is this worth getting? BFBC2 on Steam is cheap as fuck, like $20 atm. Sort of getting over COD..

Played some tonight (PS3) and it's pretty good, nice way to make a good game that's already packed with lot's of multiplayer content even better!

Prefer RUSH over Conquest mode for sure, well so far anyways.

I usually don't mind both in normal BC2...but the rush maps in this are so damn fun.

I still like normal BC2 more though, mainly because of the weapons :) (M416 + dot sight = win! Oh and also T88S with 4x) and maps! ---- although the thing I've noticed so far is that in Vietnam.....camping sniper fags aren't as common!
