GT5 Tuner + Driver Battle - Sunday 19 / 12 / 10

The idea :

All build the same model car, tune it up and race over a few tracks.

Find the best tuner / driver combo.

The rules for this round.

Must be S series car(S10/11/12/13/14/15/180 etc).
Next round a different car.

Unlimited budget.

No driver aids(TCS/ASC/ ETC)
ABS = OK

No Boost / Penalitys on high.

Cars can be gifted to other drivers if you think your the best tuner and someone else is the best driver.

Bonus cred for the best looking car.

Is race modding allowed?
I'm not sure if all (or any) of those models have race modding available.

17 cars in GT5 can be "race modded" which gives them full weight reduction and more aero options etc. Out of all the "S" cars only the S15 can be race modded which rules out all the other S cars from being competitive with this particular ruleset.

Up to you, but it's easy to police a race mod ban because they look so different.

I think the newer versions are capable of more neddies when fully tuned than the old models.

Also gotta keep in mind that you can only buy the S13 and S15 from the new car dealer.. so people wanting to use other cars would have to get them by chance from the second hand dealer which is a bit of a pain. Maybe a better way would be limiting the drivetrain and a power-to-weight ratio rather than strictly to the "S"?

Had a go at this.last night. 150k doesn't even get you half modded.

It's harder then I thought too. Did some basic setup changes and got 3 seconds a lap faster. Made some more changes, lost 10 seconds lol.

Tracks will be scuba and deep forest. Two more will be random.

the s13 you buy from the dealership is ca18 too (premium car) and most of the 2nd hand ones you come across are sr20 (standard car).

i want to build up my sileighty but its a standard car :( might just use my ca18 s13 instead and its had abit of coin spent on it already.

Are tuner cars allowed (Nismo etc.) or does it have to be strictly Nissan?

It would be good to use these cars as an arcade drift battle too, and screen print your highest scores. I have a SIL80 that I got given which fogs incredibly hard if you can keep it from looping out.

Yer getting the understeer out was the biggest challenge. Need castor settings options.

Be good once this is over too to share all our settings and see what we ended up with.

Swapping tracks may be interesting if you cant. Settings from Tskuba and Trial are fair ways apart.
