I have GT5 and Forza 3. Both are good, both have good and bad points.

Not much in the teaser vid, as it is just a teaser, but check out the Forzamotorsport.net forums and there's a lot of discussions going on. They are actively asking what cars tracks & features you'd like to see in the game. Also Top Gear will be associated with the new game, looking to be both the US & UK versions. Top Gear Test Track UK is in the game, and fairly sure I read that the guys will be featuring in it somewhat also.

Forza's cars look good. Maybe not up to Premium GT5 standard, but who knows how graphics will improve. Also Forza sounds > GT5, plain and simple.

End of the day it's not out to be more of a hardcore simulator that GT claims to be, it's a driving game and gives you that much freedom to build, paint & tune cars that no GT game ever has.

That's not gameplay, thats a technical demo of how the Kinect feature may be implemented into the game.
You will still race with a controller or wheel. May be able to race like that in some sort of party mode, but really Kinect is just for walking around and checking out cars and maybe head tracking.
Also if you do the survey on the FM.net site it leads you to believe they'll be releasing a new wheel for this game, maybe bundled with a limited edition.

Headtracking could be alright, let you look around corners, or watch the guy next to you dropping nuts. Also means you can look out the side window while you're drifting.

I bought a kinect unit today for my xbox. JB have pre order for $99. Basically you get the 2012 BMW M5 and some downloadable content. Nothing like the $300 effort we had for GT5.

Supposed release date is 13/10/11.

Yeh, I gave it a spin last night too. It's pretty damn awesome.

Make sure you give Rivals mode a go too, as it has the F10 BMW M5 and Pagani Zonda Cinque available to drive.

The Pagani is seriously cool, loving spitting flames as I blast through the Swiss Alps.

Also, if the music playing while you're driving shits you to tears as it does me, you can play a song on the xbox music player thing and pause it, which kills the background music but leaves the sound effects.

Been playing the demo. I gotta say, unlike FM3, FM4 is definitely easier with the controller than the wheel. Dunno what it is with the steering now, but it feels much more different. Tank slapping is a common thing.

Been playing the demo and a bit let down tbh just doesn't feel as real as GT5 and the skids, smoke just aren't what I was expecting it didn't blow me away like Forza 3 did. But saying that I am using a controller where on GT5 I use a G25 and the cars do sound a lot better then they do in GT5.

Yeah I did. I run with everything off including ABS, manual with clutch and braking line only. Try switching the steering to Normal not Sim, makes it a stack easier to drive. I think Simulation only really suits those using a wheel as the inputs arent as violent as they are with a controller.

i use the wheel but no cockpit setup, just have it on my knees. think it helps having a good height couch.

Thats a great lap in the m5 max, just cant top that one. there is a bit of time to be made up in the zonda, i rekon there is a flat 1.41 in it, the 2 corners after the tunnel are tough.

Yeh, there's definitely time to be made in the Zonda, you just have to be super precise, which I'm not great at haha.

Those two corners after the tunnel, I either get them and ruin all the other corners, or hit the other corners and ruin them, haven't been able to bring the two together.
It's all good fun though!

Handy hint: If you're using the Simulation steering and find yourself understeering, try letting off the analogue stick a tiny bit (assuming you're using the controller like me). It winds a bit of lock off the wheels and lets them grip again.
Takes a bit of practice, but helps heaps, and you can feel for the grip like you would when using the brakes without ABS

Speaking of manual with clutch, is it working properly for everyone? I haven't had much of a chance to play the demo but I have not missed a shift yet, and tried it once without clutch and it changed fine.

Clutch action is natural for me from F3, I find LB perfect as can roll inside of my left index finger onto the button whilst braking.

Yeh, it shifts a fair bit faster using the clutch, more noticeably on the slower cars, but still makes a difference with the faster shifting race cars, etc.

I prefer having the clutch on 'a' that way you just press the clutch and 'x' or 'b' at the same time, leaving my braking finger free of extra duties. <- sounds nerdy haha, but easier on my brain.

The SOUND! Man they nailed it with the car sounds. Love how this game runs so smooth unlike GT5's constant screen tearing.
It's not as graphically polished on the track as GT5 but it tromps it in fun. I love GT5, but I'm seriously enjoying this more. Even just the world tour is more fun. I want to design a ALM banner for the cars but just having to much fun poking around and driving :)

I pre ordered the controller one but then I realised it was just the game with no DLC. I swapped to the collectors edition and thought I would see what the feedback is on the controller and then if need me buy that seperately.

My 2010 Camaro is already fully modded/twin turbo etc. I can also use it in any race by turning off the class restrictions, which takes any sort of challenge out of the game. It's good and bad I guess, will make grinding a shit load easier to get more cars. Shame the amount of new content isn't much. Went through and checked out the cars, there's only a handful not from Forza 3 that I will bother with. As for the driving, it's good fun with a bit more skill required than the last game. The sounds are much improved, though. You no longer hear the gearbox and diff over the top of your engine which I like. Watching cars pop flames when backing off is also awesome.

Once I've got a few popular cars I'm going to go into paint shop and do some designs to sell for coin, but for now just doing some races. Top Gear Bowling!

Yeah only a few new cars, missing a shitload that I thought would be there. No VXR8/HSV VE except for the W427, no FPV's, should be at least one. No Aventador, no Porsches except for the RUF's.

Good game, just lacking things they should have picked up by now. Omitted the Top Secret Supra and the S15. Good inclusion of muscle cars and the XB Falcon looks the goods. Five V8 supercars each side.

I know, they've dropped some rims from the game, but left a lot of the shittier ones in there. Also the Hipermax Evo is in there, but only in the Rivals mode? Also the Top Secret S15 is in the game, but you can't buy it and it isn't a unicorn car. I don't know, I think they had to trim the game in some places to make it look so good, but it just sucks having things gone that were there before.

As for the decals, all the jap tuner brands and shit like that is what I'm after.

All the same as the previous game :( Apart from new tracks, better graphics and a few new cars, it not much of an upgrade from Forza 3.

I also couldn’t figure out how to bring up drift points on the screen or tyre temp for that matter. On F3 my drift setups were pretty good, tried a fairly proven setup on the 240 i was given and it was more difficult.

The sounds are awesome. Impact with other cars and the sounds of the tyres under hard braking.

I've put about 5 or 6 cars into the club garage. Few set ups for use in the Rivals races which are good for quick cash. The 240 is set up for the level A drifting at Maple Valley, and the ZR1 is for the R3 Production Car time attack. Also had a few people that livery off me. Shame you still can't make metallic vinyls, or paint rims white.. And my RE30's are still chrome, apparently, although they sure look silver to me.

Keen to get in there and smash some drifting/soccer, though.

I've found it to be quite the opposite? Can be fucking about trying to pass someone without pushing them out the way and they'll lose their shit and spin onto grass after a few corners up their ring hole. Also before I turned off rewind I noticed that if you took a different line the other cars would react different. No issues with the AI in my book.

Been doing all my racing so far with a Ford Fiesta and a RS Cossie so now i get 100% off all performance parts from Ford. So i bought the XB coupe and went to town on it currently has 460rwkw and about 900nm. Managed to reel off a 11.5 on the 1/4 mile.

Yeah it works but it doesnt fix the problem long term. I had to do it every couple of days.

If you're mildly competent with electronics, or even just careful with a screw driver, it's a pretty easy DIY, but it will void your warranty.
I've fixed a few now, but can't remember where the instructions I used have ended up.

You basically have to pull it open, take the heat sink off the CPU, clear off whatever shit goop microsoft put in there and re-apply some thermal compound. Works a treat.

I know that doesn't help anyone now, but worth keeping in mind

Theres a guide for it on Youtube. Lead free solder was the RROD problem i was told.

Are you using sim steering? If so, I posted a tip about getting rid of understeer on page 6. Can't remember if that was a factor though with that car, found it to be pretty balanced?
