Ok gents, got my hands on a K1000 along with a number of lens and other bits of pieces. Problem is I don't have a clue how to use it correctly

So If anyone can point me towards any basic information I can start with would be great.

Thanks guys

(I can get pics of the equipment if it helps in defining the information to give)

Plenty of stuff on google mate, tutorials, youtubes, etc.
However, you could book into a tafe short course - that would help you a lot.

Here's a good article on SLR's though

Google for one... there are heaps in pdf form online, very common camera.

I have a set of Pentax Asahi primes I use on a Fujica ST605n which is just a re-branded K1000.

They are a very usable and versatile camera, the metering is usually pretty reliable too (as long as you set the ISO properly and you chuck in a fresh set of button cell batteries)

If you have prime lenses and are keen on landscapes then search for "hyper focus", well worth your time.

Have fun and take your time on preparing for shots as its getting more and more expensive!

If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to try and answer them.
