Ok, so I'm writing up a PhD in health science, but have come to the conclusion that I don't want a career in pure research/academia. Looking to shuffle sideways into more of an injury management/voc rehab/corporate health type of career.
It looks like I'll have to do a couple of things like some prac hours, cert 4 OHS etc, to get my foot in the door where I want. Which is fine, I'm happy to go through and do that over the next 6-12 months.
In the meantime, bills need paying. So rather than going back to hospitality/retail management, which is where I've been while studying, I'd prefer to try and build some corporate/office experience.
So I'm looking for any sort of office work, Monday-Saturday, Perth based. My skills are in data entry and analysis, running stats, generating reports, writing up papers, giving presentations etc. I'm very computer literate, and extremely proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, as well as SPSS. I know my way around MS Access to a lesser degree, but am happy to learn.
Without being arrogant, I'm intelligent, and a quick learner - give me a few hours/days to familiarise myself with a program/system I've not had experience with, and I'll pick it up. I'm more than capable of time management, task prioritisation, and working unsupervised. Retail management has given me good interpersonal skills, and I'm able to think on my feet.
I'd be happy to do anything bar basic receptionist duties :) Anything else, even if it's just data entry, or a permanent part-time role a few days a week, I'd be interested. Health/science field is preferred, but I'm open to other areas.
If you think you have something I might be suited to, PM/msg me (0414 306 366) and I can forward a resume, or come in for a chat.
