This old sigma was a show car in its day. Looks like it has had some more work done with the cooler plates of late.

That Sigma has been in the scene for a very very long time and was always continuously evolving. It's had a lot of coin spent on it over that time.

Manheim Fowles only recently had a classic car auction, consisting of a list off odd and rare cars including a stripped out Porsche race car, 2x Rolls Royce Limousines, a Cadillac, Ferrari etc.
That Sigma and Corvette were in that list as well. More then likely back up for sale again as they haven't reached a reserve price - gone are the ideas for getting either for a cheap price
These seem to be whats left -

Pretty sure they are trying to reproduce australian car bodies like they currently do with early camaro's and mustangs. So you might see a few more new/old girls on the road in the future. Yes monaro posted above is fixable just needs plenty of $$$ thrown at it. In the long run it would be worth it.

There's bit if a argument as to wether or not they will re registrable or not though, may be why they have yet to be released... Been talked about for years. I can imagine a few restamped shells rolling about if they come in.
Wish i could afford one. Someone will pay to much for it, from what I've seen auctions are going but high of late, but you never know I guess.
Probably better off importing a south African one (assuming you dont get scammed :p)

It's going to have to be sub $1k for me to actually want it, in all likelyhood it's probably not going to happen. The trans has the shift-kit in it and has only done 70k so it's still good nick. However, even on jzx100 forums, there isn't a huge demand for 90 parts heh.

manheim has so much crap info its not funny. I was looking into a Hilux for parts before that a mate wrote off and insurance company agreed to sell to me through him. No worries. Half hour later get a call saying nah we are not selling it to you anymore we are taking it to auction (Swann Insurance - absolutely atrocious service in general, they actually lost the wreck for 2 weeks and didn't know where it was!) anyway... It went to manheim, the car was written off due to chassis damage (squashed in and bent), suspension on the lhs front was ripped from the car and everything on that side caved in, wheel torn off etc. anyway - spoke to some 4x4 people and some shops and they said its only good for parts, wouldn't put it back on the road as it went past repairable to be deemed a good 4x4 after repair.... I wanted it for parts so thought no worries, sweet.
Called up manheim: "car is listed as minimal damage and repairable write-off" - sold for approx $4800, estimated repairs from outside of insurance were at the $12k mark. For a 2002 Petrol Hilux I thought someone there who bought it got fucked on.... report at manheim didn't state chassis damage or anything (apparently)...
Anyway - /pointless csb - I just thought it was a bit dodgy.

Motor would still be worth a bit, was still running after the accident. Gearbox was a new (2nd hand) item just bought from KYP, worked well, was a twin plate ATS carbon clutch. coilpacks are splitfire and turbo is TD05-18g. Reckon Owain should buy it, keep gearbox, turbo and coilpacks, sell motor ;) Might even be able to salvage the KTS coilovers, just had new bushes pressed into the lower mounts and no knocks at all. **shrug** Dan hit me up in PM mate

you'd need a rear half cut for that?
there's an EVO 8 MR going around (RED) that went back end into a tree, tree ended up just behind the rear seat... half cut was sourced luckily from a crashed track car and car was put back together (all proper spec) - cost about $7k plus half cut.
not a car worth salvaging to be put back on road?
Nickevox

Don't need those 2 cars tacked together, not done right it be the biggest death trap ever.

Need another shell for that EVO for sure....
ECUs been pilfered from that car so mustve had some decent name and not to mention done a fuck load of kms for a later EVO.
Some dodgy kent will reshell it and sell as a genuine EVO
urabus
19-05-2012, 01:19 PM
You can buy a brand new shell (evo x) from tmr with all doors, boot and bonnet for $7.5k. Can be any colour you want so long as it is white. I imagine it would be a similar cost for one of these shells.
However..... You can buy a good one of these for early 20's so probably not worth the stuff around.

Not worth the effort might be new shell and all still have to buy shitter car and transfer everything over then get it engineered and what not.
Still have 160k on the odometer, some dodgy abdul will persevere with it & bodge it up.

http://www.manheim.com.au/passenger-vehicles/3406206/1991-honda-nsx-2d-coup%C3%A9?referringPage=AuctionListing
That NSX is one I looked at ages ago. Wondered what happened to it.
There was some uncertainty about the owner being in drug trade n shit... (Was at a "dodgy" dealer and needed to be sold by the "owner" to pay for something else - I never got to the bottom of it but did google the dealer and came upon some interesting topics.)
It must've got sold eventually to someone.
When I looked at it: Ran well, didn't like to idle when cold, rims are stupid, slight hesitation, paint is a bit worse for wear in areas, speedo has been stuck on 59,999 for a long time, guy reckoned at least 100km on it. It was running great and sounded insane on boost. Its got full billstein suspension, strengthened autobox and the car was straight and has had tonnneesssss spent on it. I spoke over the phone with the engine builder of it, said everything was done right and an absolute fortune spent... Maybe the guy who bought it fucked it really hard?
Manhiem description says "MOTOR SMOKEY.RATTLES BOTTOM END .CANT HOIST"
Didn't buy at the time cause of a communication error and guy ended up wanting more than I could afford so I had to walk... nearly cried haha.
Could be a relatively easy fix with: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Honda-NSX-Front-Rear-Halfcuts-RARE-Incl-Seats-Wheels-/200760733369?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ebe45aeb9
Especially if it goes really cheap which I expect it will?
edit: Oh yeah, auction is tomorrow morning so better hurry, lol.

I dont know if it still exists but there was a loop hole whereby if a dealership bought a new car and had it for sale for xyz number of months without selling it they did not have to pay lct on it when it sold. Obviously they bought it themselves and it was never really for sale and then they would sell it to themselves personally and then sell it back to the business for stock and no lct. I know the brohers bought / sold several new high end cars this way...

when i was working @ WA auto auctions we had people try that on more then one occasion as they would think you couldnt take the car if it had no wheels etc...
also explains the no keys/no battery
