Hey everyone,
I'm now on the search for a turbo that is suitable for my suzuki baleno, (esteem).
It's a 95, 4 cyl single cam 1.6

Any suggestions as where to find one, or maybe as to which car might have a suitable one to change over.

Otherwise, a suggestion of a complete engine swap would be helpful?

Well, a good start would be a TD04 off a WRX.

On top of that, you'd need a manifold, intercooler, exhaust, intake, oil lines, water lines, fuel system, stronger clutch, etc etc.

If you dont mind spending as much as your cars worth to get maybe an extra 40-50kw then its a good idea.

If you want to make your car even faster again, spend that entire amount again on your engine internals.

well ive got a 2 1/4" win outlet exhaust from cat back
my clutch is a neuspeed too so i think it should be able to handle it

as for the other stuff, any heads up as to where to get it?
maybe a specialty subaru performance dealer?

dont waste ya money for the money you will spend on that you could keep ya car and buy a fleet of et pulsars that will still wipe the floor with you

A good turbo pick would be 1 turbo of a gtr ... designed for 1.3 litres(give or take) and would make a 150 fwhp, more then I would imagine your engine could take without major modifications ....

I know someone who did this to their Baleno. They used a S15 turbo and maxed out the standard injectors with 120hp @ wheels lol, so upgrade fuel system if you intend on doing so.

if ur engine is the g16a then stick the g13b head on it get some proper extractors on it some nice cams and ecu and you will make ur 120 plus fwhp easy plus its still upgradable to turbo when ya come across some more money

I like you're thinking RB20ZED, big block GTi motor :) there is a few turbo swifts around, so you may come across a s/h manifold and other stuff needed for the turbo conversion.

Saw a cracked block on a Baleno the other week, the person had just bought it, and the RAC mis-diagnosed it as a radiator cap not sealing properly, would have hated to be the owner :S felt pretty sorry for them
