Is this helmet OK?
"AS/NZS 1698"

Or I need to buy a new helmet with "AS/NZS 1698/2006"?

I need to know asap as I am thinking of going to Motorplex tomorrow night (Wed) and have already booked in a skid pad day this Saturday.

Yup went to MP site and this is what they had:
Full or Open Face Helmets bearing any of these standards are acceptable;
SNELL SA 2000, SA 2005, SFI 31.2 (US)
SNELL M 2000, M2005, SFI 41.2 (US)
BS 6658-85 Type A (British)
SNELL 2000/2005 - SFI 31.1 (US)
BS 6658-1985 Type A/FR (British)
AS/NZS 1698/2006 (AS/NZS 1698) < Note this new standard

Haven't gone racing in years so just wondering what "note this new standard" really means. I really need the "1698/2006" standard??

Last time I went to the drags I had an open face helmet and the scrutineer dude said that they were trying to steer away from open face. Still let me through but did make mention of the fact that they would soon not allow open faced helmets at all. Was ages ago though.

I should be all good. My cousin's motorbike helmets which are only a few years old has the same sticker\numbering. My helmet is 11-12 years old (great condition).

But this is what I found from "http://www.palmyradragway.com.au/news.html":
<b>CLARIFICATIONS OF CURRENT AUSTRALIA STANDARDS WITH REFERENCE TO HELMETS

ANDRA has been contacted by a number of competitors concerning a perceived lack of availability of helmets meeting the current Australian / New Zealand Standard. It also appears that many helmets currently on the market have the older AS1698 standard decal, indicating that the helmet may not meet the required AS/NZS 1698:2006 – AS/NZS 1698 standard.

The AS/NZS 1698:2006, which is also labelled as AS/NZS 1698, supersedes both the older AS 1698:1988 and AS 1698:1974. After further communications with Standards Australia, confirmation has been again obtained clearly stating that the actual accepted standard and labelling is the newer standard; AS/NZS 1698:2006 – AS/NZS 1698.

Older standards are no longer recognised by Standards Australia for motor sport activities and therefore are not acceptable.
