why would you build a 26 vl,

i dunno its like s3x without a franga, the rides so fun but kinda dangerous

so here's my vlc 26,

(hopefully i post the pics right)

had a 25 vlt got it stolen year back, bought a 33skyline had to return to the vl so figured id just buy a 26, seemd like a good idea at the time, still does lol

had a rb20 in it, bought it sold the 20 to a mate who built a vl now aswell,

26dett from 32 gtr
kn filters
vl 5spd,
xceedy heavy duty
welded diff
fmic
bosch 044
xforce dumps exhaust made by grapnel 3inch,
turbo smart boost control runs 11-13 psi
customised 26 sump
king springs
and a tow ball

had 2 laps of glory at powercruise got to carried away chasing a hsv bit more boost bye bye and pulled the turbos, so just got some nice metal wheels in em.

got all the gear from either ebay or JPC in ozzi park
friends company did the welding and cutting necessary for the sump and dumps

and two auto elecy mates got it wired,

other than that did it in my garage

plans before motorvation powerfc, injectors, 411's,a nd a proper paint job

yes yes i know the paint is terrible had to have 1 coat of colour to enter in powercruise, so yeh 1 coat it was.

only does burnouts on private property. of coarse.

gearbox wont pop anytime soon, ran an VLT box in my 26 cefiro and it never failed on me. It would crunch occasionally at 8500rpm but beside that was all good.

Did a compression test & it was good, if it was the head gasket like we think/thought it should mean at least 1 cylinder would be low. Just waiting for a mate to get here then we are going to stick a hose in the radiator & look with mirrors at just where the water is flowing out from before we take off the head just in case we don't need to. Might of even cracked the head, but I'm just hoping it's something simple lol

not saying the cars are the same, it just seems to me that on the vl forums everyone puts down the 26 and says its all about the 26/30. while this may be true if you have deep pockets, the 26 has been proven time and time again.

yeh it is because cant find another job atm, have a guy thats wants the shell so keep motor cause ive spent most money on that wait till i get more cash slap it back in another vl , get turbos put back on and few kinks sorted out , like jack said, deep pockets mine r tad shallow atm.

theres always the same arguments on that site, where the same people always say dont worry about the 26 you might as well go 26/30, its not all about the cubes.
