Drove to see the Pinnacles on Monday and got back yesterday, was a great trip and I'd recommend it even if it's only a weekend. It only took 2 hours 15 mins/222.2km/¼ of a tank from the BP on Morrison Rd in Midvale to get to the caravan park on Aragon St Cervantes.

Down to business, here's the point and shoot pics!

Lucky enough to spot a pair of Emus with chicks and all! Creepy looking birds.

The downside of driving your car there...

And last but not least, me taking one of the locals for a ride...

I went Brand on the trip up and the Indian Ocean Drv on the way back, which was much nicer aside from roadworks and more traffic.

What's on the local radio station that I missed?? It was CD music all the way.

I felt so dirty putting 95 in my tank on return :( Glad the tune box for the car holds 3 customs and I asked for a 95 safety tune!

It's also not far from Cervantes to Jurien Bay, which has good beaches (seaweed littered the shore at Cervantes caravan park).

We didn't stay in a fancy resort :(

Oh and the ¼ tank was the one way/222.2km trip there from Midland. Did plenty of other trips over the 4 days...notice there's clouds in some shots and none at all in others. Went to Nambung 4 times and did the drive around there, Jurien once, and a couple trips to local shops and lookouts as well.

I was advised to see the Pinnacles at dawn, daytime and dusk as it changes the ambience a fair bit. Glad I did, the stark desert feeling sure does come on strong at midday, as do the flies. They don't really let up until 6:30pm+ though :)

Had 1/8th of a tank when the time came to leave the joint, trip meter was on 750 odd when I finally got back to midland via Fremantle, good stretch of the legs that's for sure.

We got to the park at 4.30 and stayed for 2 hours. Did a few laps then found a spot for the sunset. You were lucky to see emus! We just found lots of lost asian tourists who couldn't drive, lol
