Broadband issues ... I.T Help

Guys,

my internet started playing up at home the other day ... all the lights on my modem are green except my Internet light which is red ...

obviously i cant connect up to the net now ... and the wireless is fucked also ... when its on and my iPhone connects to it it doesnt load webpages on my phone either ... have checked the cords ... reset the modem ... now im outtah ideas :(

I've had this before, and i called up the ISP and they said it could be due to repairs/upgrades at the local exchange.

Another thing they tried was to 'reset' the connection at their end.

Maybe give your ISP a call and see if there is any maintenance or something like that going on.

Turn it off for ~30 secs and then turn it back on so the line resyncs. If all still green except the net then your line is working fine, just not authenticating with the ISP --> ring ISP.

can you still network through the wireless between your own devices? Might be an ISP issue. If you can get into your router control panel and check the connection status to your ADSL it might let ya know whats goin on.

Power cycle modem - power off for 10 minutes. Is the line getting linesync? Have you paid your bill lol ?

I have the exact same issue, I am with iinet.
I have full lights on the modem and the computer says it is connected but the acctual explored won't load, it says cannot connect.

Ben, have you got your wireless on ? Did you change the default password for the modem ?

Maybe that dardy sing next door hacked into your wireless and changed your settings :D

Just get the password to your mates wireless, park outside his house with your laptop.

nah its all protected Owain. WPA or WPA2 I cant remember which.

iiNet were fiddling with their interstate link last night and some Broadband 1 customers on certain exchanges were effected by other outages.
