You should try rFactor. Some of the mods that have come out in the recent years have been excellent (Série Internationale Du Mans, Endurance Series by Enduracers, F1 2006 by CTDP, FSONE2009). Realism in physics, modelling, sound, etc are all up there and even better than a lot of the "commercial" games. Plus you can drive on pretty much every single track you can think of.

That's pretty much it. Our shop has logins to dozens of wholesalers but we routinely get shafted on laptops/hard drives/whatever by the likes of NetPlus, OfficeWorks and others. They sell to public at prices BELOW our buy price sometimes.

I hired out Race Driver Grid to give the G27 a test run.

Its the first time ive used a wheel, its a little twitchy and sensitive at first, have to fuck around with settings but you start to get used to using a wheel.

i steel feel uncomfortable as fuck with the wheel but will just take some getting used to.

Overall, glad i invested in the G27, Solid Wheel.

imho the G25 is a better wheel then the G27. It is a known fact the G27's have a deadspot in the middle which the G25s do not. The downside to the G25 is no shift lights and noisy motors.

The dead spot is tiny and unless you like to move your steering wheel left and right repeatedly 2-3 degrees from the center (why would you do this?) you're not gonna notice it. The G27 is already quite noisy for me, especially for console games where the FFB is less configurable, so the G25 is worse in that aspect.

Every other aspect of the G27 is also better than the G25 (shifter feel, adjustable pedals, number of buttons). If you're really desperate to use sequential on the shifter instead of the paddles there are mods on how to do it for the G27 shifter floating around on the net.

Having a little issue with my G27, im not sure wether its normal (doubt it) when playing F1 2010.

-First of all with environmental effects turned on (force feedback) it makes lots of clunking sounds which is very annoying

-secondly, playing in melb (or on any other track) with force feedback on, going around a corner in high speed, there seems to be a deadzone about midway into a corner of about 10 to 20 degrees.

i.e.

-Arrive into corner.
-Turn wheel ~45, wheel turns fine.
-Wheel feels like it clicks into place, deadzone of further 10 to 20 degrees.
- wheel then keeps rotating fine.

I doubt this is normal.

The clunking is pretty normal if the FFB is too strong, especially in console games since you can't fine tune it other than the presets. The random deadzones aren't normal though.

hey guys, i was just wondering what the plug system is like for this? i think i can tell from one random pic i found, but its of a g25, just wanted to make sure it's the same...

do all 3 pieces have their own plug? its of no consequence if one plugs into another on their way to the console, but more i am wondering are items easily seperated from one another? eg not hardwired as 3 pieces into eachother?

the reason i ask is my current pencil design for a racing seat setup is set around the notion of storing the seat in my bedroom with the gearstick fixed to it and leaving the steeringwheel/pedal section down in the general tv area.

If you feel like the force feedback is totally wrong, it might be reversed. Try setting it to -100% instead of 100% (or whatever value you had it on) and see if it makes a difference.

Pretty sure you can adjust it with the Logitech software that comes on the disc with the g27.

Yeah I have that same problem when playing shift. It feels like the steering wheel has a mind of it's own and goes all over the place.

This is the shit. Got my G27 yesterday, and it's so good.
Played F1 2010, GRID, and they both work amazingly well. FF is win!

Just as I thought i had spent enough money on my computer, i see a totally pr0n 3 monitor set up ...

Received my G27 sometime last week. Ive since used it on Dirt2, F1 2010 and GTR Evolution. GTR is more the simulation, hard as fuck but a great challenge.

For people having issues, mostly you need to update the games and G27 software. That deadspot people harp about is there, but i dont notice it when racing.

Overall money well spent. Until I start pricing up 2 x 26" monitors and a new video card ...
