no its not, mine made 367 on ft dyno with pretty much same mods as above & mine has 3800 stall...

made 380 on waperf after retune...

any manual with same mods will do over 400...

if this vx had a solid cam etc then yes its low hp...

Why? LS1 built to stock comp with forgies, small cam and head work could easily still net 360s.

A couple of reasons just off the top of my head:

So it's a low range/mid range monster.. Have seen plenty of ~224 H&C combo cars with autos, the heads make the cam even more driveable. Gotta remember that a big 230's cam isn't suitable for everyone.

The other reason would be that the car could've been built for a blower, and never copped boost.. This would easily explain the low boost possible small cam combo.

This simply could've been a case of excessive oil use or flogged pistons/rings and the option to go forged slugs for a few hundred extra $$.

I think the figure is fairly accurate to be honest, and people could play the speculation game forever more, but it is what it is at the end of the day, for whatever reason - budget build, small cam, low comp, rich tune etc etc.

I think a lot of people fudge dyno figures... it's still 346 cubes, pump fuel compression, standard heads etc. It'd say the 'full build' motor was meant to be leant towards reliability not brute power

A built motor will cost you HP ( unless you spend bulk cash on lightweight parts ) because the rotating assembly will weigh more than the stock unit and takes more power to turn. Also once the pistons and such have been changed without knowing all the specs the compression ratio may have been changed.

Im sure canks will have it down the strip soon.

Yeah you need to have rear reflectors. Could get taillights off a VX Berlina/Calais which has them built into the lights though to get around it.
