You need a phone line to have naked DSL ;)

Have you looked into iinet naked DSL? That or TPG are fairly decent (however I'm not sure if TPG do naked?)

No advantage speed wise other then the fact you dont have monthly line rental. Setup fees are usually a bit higher and most naked DSL plans count uploads whereas non-naked generally don't.

Next question?

No you don't. As long as there is a physical line you don't need it hooked up.... well unless they can't find the line in the exchange. If you have the previous phone number of the line it will make life a lot easier.

Yeah when it comes down to it naked isn't that much more than a gimmick... But having VOIP for your home phone means cheap to free local calls etc. If you do a lot of local calling its beneficial.

Not paying the monthly line rental is usually offset by the uploading costs and other costs being slightly higher...

Dial 127 22 123.

What he said, if that doesn't work there is another number too... dunno what it is though I know it's on the Whirlpool forums.

That's good it means the line is still connected up properly to the exchange so it should be easy for them to find it. I'd call them up to fill out the application and just tell them that's the old phone number.
