Centurion - always used them and always get good service and quality.

Had a Centurion at my old house, liked it.
Have a Glidemaster (sp?) at my new place and my parents have one too, the accuracy/range/whatever of the remotes is terrible. Really have to hit the 'sweet' spot for them to work.

What quotes you been getting? We use Perth Windsor Doors or Centurion through work. Just had my door on my rental serviced by Excel Garage Doors also

Unfortunatly I dont install garage doors anymore, I only service, repair and install new motors.
PM me if you want any info though. I can tell you who to use and why.

i got a really good deal through Gryphon Garage Doors in Malaga - they were cheaper than others and got a nice and quiet motor.

bumping an old thread.
our garage door motor seems to be fucked.
need service/replacement/repair - who to use. will PM sdwz180 in case he does the stuff still but if he doesn't - any recommendations?
the bloody thing goes up half a meter and stops, goes down 20cm and stops. have to basically lift the door up ourselves.

have you greased your pole? Not joking, ours is a panel garage door and it gets stuck if its not greased properly

We also went Gryphon and everyone comments on how quiet the motor is. Have heard some that sound like trucks.
2+ years with no faults so far, although the remotes are pretty ugly.
LOL. Missed that this was a thread bump.

For what its worth.. BD doors. Front sectional with belt drive. Quiet as and to date no problems. Bought remotes through bunnings special order genuine for $49.
Rear is roof mounted roller and same same.
Compared to my previous being centurion, gryphon, glideroll... would not use anything else.

Nah mate, cog is leaning forward (bushes are worn) so it overloads and cuts out. Shit quality parts really. Make stuff so it breaks eventually otherwise no one would ever need to replace it right. :P
Craig (sdwz180) - has been helpful so far, would recommend. Will see what it will cost to fix the cog and the old fella is hell bent on toughening it up so it never happens again... LOL

We have a B&D door, it's quiet as fuck. Had some issues with it resetting the way it opens (opening in increments instead of fully opening even after I've adjusted it) but I've sorted the problem.

Perth Windsor - 9408 2100
Gryphon - 08 9249 6446
B&D - 92478777
All of the above I rate. Centurion make an OK door, but I have found through maintenance items their installers can be a little poor from time to time.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for I guess. Personally I'd pay a premium to make sure I get a quality service centre or something along those lines when/if it does break.
