We object to the Government’s plan to censor the internet for a variety of reasons – it won’t help parents, it won’t help police, it’s secretive, it costs a lot of money. Perhaps these points are debatable, but one isn’t – experts agree, anybody who wants to will be able to get around the censorwall, easily, on day one.
Here is a demonstration of how ridiculously easy it will be. In two minutes, I demonstrate not just how to get around the filter, but 5 different ways to get around it.
The first is to use the Google cache – Google’s stored copy of the page. Google has proved a nuisance to would-be censors everywhere, and the cache is one reason why. Using a VPN and a proxy get a mention. The remaining two are so trivially simple they may surprise you.
Will the ease of getting around the filter cause an arms race, with the Government tightening the law every further? We hope not. But one reason to worry about the filter, even if ineffective, is certainly that its very uselessness might lead to calls for more restrictive censorship.

The number one way to get around the filter is to not vote labour...

It didnt, labour already has a test version running atm. At most it will be pushed until after the election.

They can bring it back whenever they feel like it, and eventually will, when they reckon they can push it through again without anyone noticing.

They won't have the controlling vote in the senate, it isn't going to happen.
Best bet is to vote Green etc, that way theres more people to vote against it.

I am voting Nationals.
Fuck I hate politics.
And the retards running for office at the moment. More useless than a pack of Chimpanzees on a space shuttle to the moon.

Greens have a deal with labour now, basically a vote for greens will equal out as a vote for labour, even though they wont admit they are in bed together like the coalition.
Think of them like Greens is the ugly fat chick that Labour is fucking but wont admit to his friends.
TBH vote for sex party over greens now haha and as of next Election I'll be voting for Pirate Party of Australia, followed by libs in second.

I think a lot more people will be voting Greens this election that have ever done so in the past.
Australian Sex Party. I don't think they'd be concerned about internet filtering..

Bit more complicated than that. But the fact is its great news that it probably won't get through. That was my only concern this election. The rest of it is just absurd.

It doesnt matter where Greens preferences go, the fact is they are against the filter and will block any legislation introduced into parliament
They are not "in bed" with the ALP, the only reason they have a preference deal is because they are required to under electorial law, and theyre obviously not going to choose the Liberals
Joe Hockey said the other day on JJJ that the Libs would oppose an internet filter, so hopefully no matter who wins there will be no filter.
