I am at the moment trying to find some info as well as I have read up people just using old tail shafts, some RHS piping and it working well. Only thing I am worried about is the lifting necessity of the Rotisserie, as I will be using it on the XA and would need it to be full adjustable and the car would basically have to be able to spin as I pleased.
@RMX, these ebay ones, have they faulted in anyway with your mate at all?

Our old one used to be made out of the posts from stop signs etc(yellow ones) but the new one we have was imported from USA. Its height adjustable, locks into place at any angle and looks like:

$1200 + $200 to ship to Perth.
900kgs max.
Will have to look into it...may be better than trying to build one...not sure yet...
