I've searched this forum and SAU but it's mixed responses. The one's most talked about are.
- RedLine light weight or heavy
- Castrol VMX80
- Royal Purple, not sure wich one

Add your experiences with the above or other oils.

Thats what I don't get nick, some rave about it stopping crunches etc while others say it's no got for syncros!!
Is it coz people put it in thinking their gb is invincible now and thrash thru the gears more beaking stuff?
Whats in your box :p

Well when i first got my r33 the gearbox had a slight crunch into 2nd when cold, so drained it and put redline shockproof lightweight oil in it, took a 3-4 weeks for it to gradually improve. Ever since then it's been sweet as, no crunching or any other problems. thumbs up for the redline here.

Same here...where people go wrong is they leave it in the box for too long because Redline says its okay to do that, and it cakes up and leaves shit on the gears..

Change it every 10k km and you will NOT have a problem

Redline stopped mine crunching all gears. Before Redline I couldn't select fifth at any speed above 50kph no it's like new. Like Joe said change it more often than what they say i'm doing mine very soon and the stuff in there has done bout 15thou k's.

Mine has about 12k on it and its very overdue IMHO, but it still feels smooth...most guys change it when it starts getting notchy again, but by that time its too late.

Where can I get this fluid from? Anywhere that will deliver to my door?

I get mine from Tim Slako at West Racing in Ossie Park.

Not to sound like a tight ass but changing Redline gb oil every ~10km's would cost like $120?My car is a daily driver and that would kill the pocket!

Yeah its not viable for many...my WRX only does 10k km a year max, so its cost effective for me..

If you've seen it come out of a box you'l know why its no good, I spent some time in a workshop and saw redline do some bad things to perfectly healthy gearbox's. Stick with a quality lubricant and change it regularly. Running fuchs in mine.

Ok you have persuaded me not to get Redline Nick :p
I have fuchs in the gb now in the car and it's good. It's not that synthetic stuff.

Plenty of people love it and have had good experiences with it (I have in a previous car) as the other posts show but I have seen it make a mess of healthy synchros. Not something I would want to take a chance on with a relatively hard to source box. Good to hear youve got a strong box in there, time to wind up the boost?

Exactly what I was thinking. The box is going in next week and then it's time to play :)
