Hey guys

This afternoon I got back from uni ,turned my Iphone off from silent , when I pressed the top button to lock it started making a funny resonating echo sound (sounds like a squirrel on spincycle in a washing machine) for about 5 sec before fading ,now its doing it everytime I lock it.

I was wondering if anyone had this problem before or will I need to take it in to get checked/fix....

its a 3gs with newest software

What it sounds like
Ps this is not my phone but the same problem

Throw it against the wall. Noise should stop but may need a screen replacement.

the sound is called "feedback" where the noise from the speaker is heard by the mic and it keeps ocsilating around and around getting louder and louder.

i have an application that makes it do that on purpose so i can annoy the audio techs at work,

my guess is that the new operating system is allowing the mic to stay on when not in a call or rrecording app allowing it to "feedback"
