Hey
got a dirty redtop Rb20
lately ive been having afew issues with spark breakdown well thats wat it feels and sounds like on full boost, once the boost starts rising it cuts and sounds kinda a retarded limiter smashing fuel out. starts fine idles fine, just changed plugs to check if it was them.
next in line is coilpacks to swap and check but is there anything else it could be ?
i have a spare TPS, Ignitor, Cas afew other things i can check also.
what plug gap, heat range & boost level are you running?

running 14pound, the plugs ive used before for the last 8 months are the same that are in it now Code wise. gap im not sure as i just run the same as my mate does. but never had a problem before. it just started happening in the last week on a cold nite.
ok not much boost, got any ecu mods? if not probably boost/fuel cut depending on ecu

nistune ECU tuned by hyperdrive
im pretty sure its the coils though..

14 pound is still enough to blow spark out, check your plug gaps,
run .7 to .8mm if you have weak coilpacks
Also 8 month old plugs? how many km's have you done on them? hope they arn't copper
coppers should be changed every 10K..

yeh they are copper, NGK, 8 months is awhile i know but its only a weekender hardly gets driven and i dont think it would have done 10 xxxkm in that time honestly.
yeh i know you should run about 0.8mm i used to on my 32,
i only changed the plugs because i thought it may fix the problem, but problem started while old plugs where in my car. BKR6E is the current plugs. no idea on gap size for that though.
0.8 is fine but 6 is ghey, should be running at least 7 imo
& yeah if shes been flashed boost cut would have been changed but with colder weather you could still be hitting it at the same boost level

Yeah check your coils but I'd also give your maf sensor a clean. The maf does strange things when it's not reading correctly. Mine was doing silmilar until I gave it a clean and resoldered the dry solder joints inside the casing. Haven't had a problem since.

Could be the coil.
happen to my evo in the past
taught was the plugs were not good.
my sparks breaks after 20 psi.. and its an awfull feeling hahaha
change coils and it works wonders!
Try some ones coils and see if that rectified it.

Standard gap for those plugs is 0.8 so you're ok there.

I purchased a spare set off SAU for 20 bucks.. plenty of people sell them.. put up a WTB
